I struggle to rationalize "fire everyone" with "trade everyone?" And of course all our players are junk but worth gold in return because once in 5 years we over paid for Timo. - rpeters01
You and me both. Just wait until we trade Gus and see the return we get, some people here will go nuts. |

Guentzel out for the rest of the year, Saad for Golchenyuk (UFA), Sam Poulin, and Calen Addison? - LAHawk
You think someone will give that for a 20 goal 40 point winger? |

And that we hate on a player because they were traded for one of our favorites (Murphy, Nylander)

Golchenyuk totally sucks. Pens fans are pining to get rid of him. - kwolf68
Montreal ruined him his first year or two in the league. 1st line...4th line....centre....winger....centre....1st line....4th line....winger. Poor fella didn't know what he was doing. Lost all confidence. Looked good early. But, lost it quickly after all the Richarding around. Not sure I would want him on our team. May be beyond fixing... |

From what I hear Rangers are asking for a first and mid level prospect for Kreider who is strictly a rental. Saad is a better all around player than Kreider, and has better offensive stats then Kreider with one more year of control. With Hall off the market until free agency, I would hold out and see if you can get that for Saad, Hawks don't have to trade him either.

And we will also hear from a couple of posters that only show up when things aren’t going well. They know who they are, heck, we all know who they are. - Angotti
And Canucks are on a 5 game winning streak. Going for #6 tonight. Should be a good game. |

Actually everyone here will go nuts.
One group will say we did not get enough.
One group will say we should have gotten more.
One group will say we never should have traded him.
One group will say we should have traded him last summer. |

We did beat a hot Vancouver team back in November. I think it should be a good game too. |

At that point, the timing of the deal will be questioned and a phantom report will surface about how the Hawks could have gotten two first rounders for him but Stan spit the bit and choked away another good return for a future first ballot HOF'er. |

And should of included Mitchell and gotten more as Mitchell is not signing with the Hawks( because Kevin Hayes).

Lehner back in goal tonight. Looks like he has cemented the #1 goalie position.
Let's hope the Hawks continue the streak tonight.
Kubalik — Toews — Quenneville
Sikura — Carpenter — Kane
DeBrincat — Dach — Strome
Smith — Kampf — Highmore
Keith — Boqvist
Gustafsson — Murphy
Maatta — Gilbert

He is a UFA, could care less about him, to make the dollars work for Pitt., more interested in the 2 kids. - LAHawk
It’s a good proposal because Galchenyuk has been awful for the pens this year, if/when they move him it’ll be as a cap dump which would raise the price some for saad, tho I still don’t think it would be enough to get both poulin and Addison. Maybe if we add Gus. They always need depth d |

Biggest "tell" on the lineup is that Carpenter is your #2 center.
Carpenter-Sikura....where does this rank in terms of linemate combos for #88? Woof!!!!! |

I've actually seen and heard Kaner compliment Carpenter and Sikura as linemates twice in the last week. |

Just think how many points Kane would have if we had a good power play (Or ADB whiffing on shots we buried last year), let alone top-tier linemates.

Doesn't matter. Colliton will put the lines in the blender after 10 minutes if the Hawks are down a goal. Also Kane will be double and triple shifted. He probably will play with every center at one point during the game. |

My goal wasn't to be snarky about Carpenter/Sikura, moreso reflective of the lack of depth on this roster when clear bottom-6 guys are up with your most dynamic player.
I was rationalizing watching so much Hawks when the team is clearly missing parts. Having Kane 2/3 shifted makes it more exciting....at least we get to see the hell used out of him in his prime. |

Golchenyuk would be one of Bowman's moves, trying to ressurect a guy who was a high draft pick but is struggling. Not sure Saad would command all three guys especially with his cap hit. - paulr
At least Galchenyuk has had decent success in the NHL. Don't think it makes sense. He is not on an entry level contract, an upcoming RFA or cost controlled for term. Doesn't work on a lot of levels.
Saad to a win now team like Colorado or the Oilers that are a bit more desperate and have some assets wouldn't be a bad idea. Arizona needs scoring but may not have the cap space. |
