Perry probably is in the record book now for the longest walk of shame in NHL history. - LAHawk
Perry is trash. There is "hard to play against" and just being a giant wiener on the ice who places the livelihood of others at risk. Perry is cheap and he's a diver. I think one could find a really tough guy to play against while also having high on ice character. |

Serious question for all of you who prefer analytics point of view: is it really sane to make the case for Strome being more effective hockey player than Kane? I find this hard to grasp. And I like Strome. - stonefire
It depends on how much you value defense. Most analytics show Kane as an elite playmaker and goal scorer, but really, really bad in his own end.
If you get to see the game tonight, count how many times 88 receives a pass in his own zone, and fails to exit the zone, either by pass or skating it out. The number will surprise you. |

Guentzel out for the rest of the year, Saad for Golchenyuk (UFA), Sam Poulin, and Calen Addison? |

Have you seen the Memes of his walk set to music? I could walk 500 miles. Boulevard of brokens dreams and that silly music the Czechs use when a player is penalized. |

From Powers, using Evolving Hockey’s numbers.
30. In GAR, Murphy is followed by Strome (6.8), Kubalik (5.1), Carpenter (4.9), Toews (4.5), DeBrincat (4) and Dach (2.5). Kane is at 1.4. The model ranks him among the worst even-strength defenders in the league and that weighs his overall number down.
As for goalies, Lehner is fifth in the league at 10.4 GAR. Crawford is 35th at 3.0. |

A little late day chuckle---a Pens fan just texted me a rumor that the Pens and Hawks discussed Saad for Galenchuk, Jack Johnson, and a pick but talks stalled when Saad went down. That's a joke trade.
Also rumors of Keith going to Pittsburgh if Keith will wave. I asked him where he got the rumor, but no response yet. Though I suspect the rumor came from penguins.com

Golchenyuk would be one of Bowman's moves, trying to ressurect a guy who was a high draft pick but is struggling. Not sure Saad would command all three guys especially with his cap hit. |

He is a UFA, could care less about him, to make the dollars work for Pitt., more interested in the 2 kids.

It's sure as F better than that pile of bilge I posted. Poulin was their first from last year, don't know anything about Addison and galenchuk stinks. So it would really be Saad for two prospects. You do get cap room as well. That's the MINIMUM to do a deal with Pitt, but teams have helped them too much over the years, including our Hawks. |

If the Hawks could get him and then flip him for Mikael Boedkker that would be...meh.
Hoping any moves the Hawks make are for picks and prospects. |

And we will also hear from a couple of posters that only show up when things aren’t going well. They know who they are, heck, we all know who they are. |

So that's what it will take to get Malkin here so he can be "the man". |

I struggle to rationalize "fire everyone" with "trade everyone?" And of course all our players are junk but worth gold in return because once in 5 years we over paid for Timo. |
