Sure, let’s say playoff contender. Let’s operate under that assumption

This roster is sooooo bad, that Erik Haula, perennial 3rd line center, who’s shooting a ridiculous 24% this year (which he more than likely doesn’t do here) makes us a playoff contender?

So which is it? Is the roster just so poorly constructed that we need so much or are we just one piece away from beginning to contend for the playoffs on an annual basis?

- sbroads24

I know the results haven't been there, but the on ice impact isn't bad...it's just not good.

Idk if it's Haula but the right centre could open things up for wingers to convert some of the chances they're generating.

alternatively they could try to find a winger who can consistently out perform a reasonable XG.

I think it would keep them in it till game 82.

Sure and how many elite QB’s have missed the playoffs due to having lass then stellar defences ?
- Pegullaville

Dude you completely miss the point: That defense would be wading water at perpetual 6-10 without a QB and you are legit out of your mind if you think Jimmy G is not a huge part of where they are this year.

I mean literally, he got injured for the whole season last year and they were absolutely terrible. He literally led almost the same exact team, player for player to 8 more wins than they had last year.

That Super Bowl defense was good for 4 wins.

The Bills are living proof of what happens when your pair an elite defence with average QB play.
- Pegullaville

Flaccoville- Allen's play has been way better than an average qb.

He's top 5/10 in tds by a qb isnt he?
9 rushing tds
6-2 on the road

Jealous at all?

What was your feeling on mitts before the season?
Guy lost weight, looked to be taking training serious
Lowered his body fat considerably

Guy was a top 10 pick, 21 years old.

- Boss34

I legit would not have drafted him for this alone:

I cautioned everyone not to expect Mitts to be a stud last season
But even i thought he’d take a step forward this year
I think we all did (besides Gerbe)

- jdfitz77

Hell I said he could be top 10 if he got his shot together and worked his ass off

Then buffalo pulls this bs poop about 7% body fat to make people believe he was working his ass off making it seem like everyone one in buffalo are fat cows and don't under stand body Percentage

Tyler Seguin was at 7-8% now hes at 3%

12 goals and 13 assists in 77 games as a 20 year old on a terrible team. 1st full nhl year.

I would think most expectations would be between 25-40 points with better wingers.

Botts picked mitts. That's someone he had high Hope's for.

Definitely disappointed

Its definitely on me. I actually agree with one of your posts.

8 in a row is awesome to bring family and friends. Hard to find at the arena. The leafs, bruins, Canadiens and a few other teams sell for quite a profit.

If the Sabres were just competitive into march, things would be much different. The Bill's winning actually hurts ticket sales too. Its still football season to most buffaloians.

$$$$$ if were ever good. BIG EVER

- Boss34

Yeah I understand that. Even if the Sabres are good eventually, will you ever recoup the money you already “invested”.

I’m not trying to be a richard. Just asking if you think you will ever recoup that money spent.

In bigger markets ..... like you mentioned. You would definitely be making bank. My buddy is a bruins fan and those seats are insanely expensive.

I just read a brief abstract on Mittelstadt's combine.

They lost me when they said his speed was his strong point.

He is literally one of the slowest players on the team, if not the actual slowest. I constantly see him get beat to the puck, smoked by 4th liners and winded as soon as he hits the bench.

Dude is a fat mess.

I mean how much more working out do you want? The buffalo news or athletic did a story about how he called his trainer and started working out like 3 days after the season ended

Nothing to do with the point you were trying to make last night my dude. Your whole premise was Law of the Farm and high draft picks. Penguins and Blackhawks were first two examples you gave before you overstepped your area of expertise. Please note if you are a studier of time like the 3ER, you will note perennial success in the NFL is not sustained by having a good defense. It is when having a good QB. In the words of my Calculus teacher, you might want to write that down.

I don’t disagree.

I think Botts has mismanaged this roster this season. Badly.

I also think that the Sabres have totally fixed their defense to the point where we are top 10 in CA/60, XGA/60 etc. We’re actually very good defensively

They need another weapon. I’m not rebuilding the organization again because the GM has yet to add another guy.

There is a huge difference between comparing an above average QB to guys who will be selling insurance in a year and a half.

Drew Lock went 4-1 as a starter cause he was average and we were 3-8 with below average QB play. See the difference ?

If vesey. Sheary Skinner miller Johansson Atleast produced at their normal career averages. Our team would greatly be improved.

But guess what ..... they are all having career lows and not playing well at all

Agreed, there were a few names that fit the mould i was referring to on the wing that were moved semi recently, Burakovsky and Fabbri.

But if they want to "swing for the fences" so to speak, Palmieri has regularly beaten his XGF by a wide margin for at least the last 3 years. They won't publicly say it, but they're at least looking at a soft reset.

I don't believe any of that at all Common sense if you're at 7% body fat and you're working out you will have abs or some what Muscular body and you wouldn't have a fat face...

Allen has been good for about 3 games all year and the rest the defense carried them to victory. The games we lost ..... Allen sucked and defense got crushed.

If Allen was on a bad team ..... no one would think he improved or got better

The Cowboys and Steelers were pretenders.

Fitzpatrick just went into Foxborough and threw for 300 and won.

I do think you’ll beat the Texans this week though.

Tre White should not only be up for Defensive MVP, but for NFL MVP too.

Actually that is fake news ..... I’ve had my body fat tested multiple times when I played for hockey and during the off-season training. I was down to 8% body fat and did not have abs.

So that is not necessarily true. You are assuming.

I'm pretty sure it's you who doesn't see the difference even though you literally stated it... In the quoted post above...

Let me help you:

Drew Lock went 4-1 as a starter cause he was average and we were 3-8 with below average QB play. See the difference ?

You are literally winning my argument for me, so if you wanna keep posting I'm good.
