“Boeser shot 16% his first 70ish games, has shot closer to 11.5% the last two seasons. Think that explains a lot of the perception/scrutiny difference.

He's still scoring at a top-line rate + generating shots at a top-50 rate.

There's that along with league adjusting to him & giving him less space to get the shot off. To Sheldon's point, there is anecdotal evidence of him passing up some shots & that could be attribute to having better teammates on the ice, looking for JT, EP or even Hughes on PP etc

At the end of the day, he's producing points at the same rate as he did in his rookie season (.1 difference in p/60 rate), while VAN is scoring goals when he's on the ice at a much higher rate.

His shot rate could get back up a bit, but the overall profile remains high end.”

That will be a surprise.

I see a hard fought game but 4-2 flames (only because a prolonged Canuck winning streak is unlikely).

But if they do win... I might as well get on the playoffs bandwagon because a tank at this point would be futile.

Boy there are a lot of poopy teams in the league right now...

The Pacific Division is

Probably lends itself to some of our success? That and Miller Pettersson Boeser are an awesome first line!!

His shot isn’t great anymore. Lost velocity and accuracy. If you can’t see that? Well you are probably a fat slob

Has Miller been JBs best move to date? I think so.

Miller’s attitude has been sorrily missed on this team for years. Talk about taking a dump in the middle of the country club.

Non draft move yes, arguably the Canucks best player. He has puck skills, size, can skate ok, good shot, he’s been an awesome pickup.

For a team in cap trouble he gave up too much for him though. Which is his MO when he wants something.

Tampa had cap issues. Benning solved that for them though and gave them a 1st rounder in the process.

Lol. Was Loui with Horvat again last night? Only watched a period. If so, green should be shot

So what if they had cap issues? Toronto has cap issues, would they get a good return for Reilly or Anderson? Yes they would

If you don’t have the first overall draft pick then you’re left to the mercy of GMs who pick before you. You really don’t have full control of what you want to do.

With trading or signing you have a bit more control on what you want and how much you’re willing to give up, whether cap space or assets.

JB targeted a player he wanted and went out and got him. Paid too much? Probably, but the move is paying dividends now.

Some people haven't figured out that because you have cap issues doesn't mean other teams are just going to run off with your prime talent for free.

Loui's stick shattering in the slot when he has a perfect clapper lined up. His Canucks experience summed up in that single play.

He paid the first round pick to a team who had a good player but he wasn’t really a good fit there and they had some cap issues, I just wish he would have gave up a second not the first

You realize in the NHL a 2nd and 3rd gets you players like Justin Braun or Andrew Shaw. Not JT Miller in his prime.

Well not just a 2nd alone Minivan, come on? He had one 50 point year in his career and Vegas got Stone for a 2nd and a defensive prospect. Why didn’t he offer Juolevi and a 2nd.

He may have? Anyways enough of that I’m on to the flames game tonight.
