Bo is a much better Sutter & not a playmaker. Explains much why Pearson & Leivo fit so well. It’s difficult to be consistent & good playing on Bo’s wing. Better to give Gaudette better wingers. Eg Miller would work great but Gaudette would need to be better all around to get more TOI. Bo is Bo & it’s overrated he needs a top 6 winger. 3 lines deep is what I would build. 4th line for speed & tenacity & newbies getting cameos when called up.

True, but many of Bennings past mistakes haven't really come back to bite us in the ass.
2014 2nd for Linden Vey = Roland McKeown. Meh
2015 2nd for Sven Beartschi = Rasmus Andersson. Meh.
2016 2nd for Gudbranson = Rasmus Asplund. Meh
2017 we kept ours and had a 2nd one.
2018 we kept it
2019 we kept it

All in all the players drafted with the 2nds we gave up were meh, and we really only missed out on a couple players that there was no guarantee we took anyways. At the time they were terrible for us, but have 0 impact on our current situation, nor our future situation.

A GM regardless of whatever team he is managing, will make deals that he feels will make the team somewhat better. There are no guarantees whether the player coming in or the out going player/pick will amount to a quality decision.

Sutter is an example, he came in without any injury issues and unfortunately can’t catch a break of not being injured, no one can predict this, except in hindsight.

Benning is doing a fine job in my opinion, he is not a genius like we sometimes joke about, but neither is he an idiot as some here label him
