Congrats to Dalton Smith for getting his first NHL contact. The dude has worked hard down in Rochester, has the respect of his teammates and is a leader on that team. He sticks up for his fellow players. Redmond got run the other night and DS was there to punch the stuffing out of Braddock. He popped a tooth and kept pounding the dude.

Doubtful he gets called up but you never know.

My guess is that they would only sign him with the intention of calling him up.

It seems like no one else will stand up for teammates on the Sabres, so they might as well try to bring someone up that will.

I didn't see the game yesterday, but someone mentioned that there were a few missed calls on the Bruins which caused Jack to lose his mind.

The team needs a policeman of sorts.

He will definitely be that type of player. If he's on the ice and Dahlin or Eichel get run, he'll take care of business.

It seems like you know Rochester pretty well. Should Murray get a contract or is he still a bit away?

And there is a limit on contracts the Sabres can have, isn’t there?

I think it's 50 organizational contracts.

Murray is very close to deserving a contract and I would think he's next. Cap friendly has us with 44/50 contracts currently and Smith will make 45.

I wonder if Smith already counts since he was signed to an AHL deal.

I don't really know how it all works.

Yeah, he's one of the 10 "Non-Roster Forwards" at the bottom of the page which count toward the total.

Looks like they just added him

E1 on the Leafs, Sabres rumour. Sabres offer up Scandella, second round pick and another grade A prospect or starting player for Kapanen. If I hear it one more time it’s moving to a E1.1

Wow, would you look at that Kapanen.
Almost like someone mentioned a trade like that last week.
Not happening...till August when all the big trades are made.
