Have they revamped and upped the scouting dept yet? How’s botts prospects looking?

I guess all that matters now is if botts can shift the crappy scouting / drafting trend...

The Sabres lost, and it didn’t affect me one bit.

I think it’s the apathy again.

Also a severe hatred for this GM.
Also a lack of faith in this coach.

If only when the team was struggling to score you had a 9mil winger to put with your 10mil Center. They may not have chemistry, I’d need to see a year of say 40 goals from that winger playing next to said center.

You’re going Beady.

Not full Beady, but Beady nonetheless

Sure. Sabres have lost 5/6. Barring a major intervention, it's over

Have to agree with you. Taylor got a nice look at the big club and how Ralph runs the ship.

I still like botts. Some good moves, some, eh... but we do have to stop the cycle of fire and start again. That’s why I want another person in the front office with him. I don’t care the title (President, consultant, Jason’s idea trampoline), just an experienced hockey mind. Someone who might lean more toward making a move on d sooner or ever. Or being the sounding board that maybe bogo’s value isn’t as high as you’d want, but maybe it’s more detrimental to keep the malcontent and his horrid play around.

I just wanted fun hockey to watch and a shot at the playoffs. There has been some fun, but inconsistent fun hockey. And they are kinda in the playoff race. Now botts just needs to do a little something. Enough is enough with all the d men. Find a deal, figure it out. It doesn’t have to be a block buster. I don’t expect that outta him in season (even if it’d be nice). But try something.

- Gr8daygo

I am on the same page about watching some fun hockey. I am so worn down by the Sabres losing I have no interest in watching the Amerks college or junior hockey anymore. It sucks.

Atleast when the bills sucked, I would watch other games because of fantasy football

He just has to fix basically everything about how he evaluates and obtains forwards at every level, especially the NHL, and then we'll be good

Anyone seen Skinner lately?

9 points since Nov 1. (26 games)

You would think him being so elite, he could put up at least .5 ppg in that stretch.

Now on pace for under 40 points.

but hey analytics say hes been great.

That was one of the most boring hockey games I have watched in a while.
Just no life.

Jack has looked rather average since Bogo requested his trade.
I think he is sending a message to Botts...this what the team looks like without me playing like a league MVP there Jason...get me some freaking help!

Is Evander Kane available? We could use a real power-forward.
- BeadyEyedDouche

Kane to Skinner was a sideways move. As much as Skinner moves the needle even strength, Kane makes up for with his special teams and physical play.

You're finally coming back around.

Were you abusing acid the past few months? It's okay, I've done it too and it makes you act a little wonky.

But you're spot on with that one.

- BeadyEyedDouche

Nope I’m the same guy. I still think Leon is better then Sam and that you shouldn’t give an 8 year contract to anyone other than a franchise defining player.

The only silver lining of Draisatil not wearing Blue and Gold right now is that Dahlin is.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: I have no doubt Botterill’s been working the phones shopping a blueliner for a forward, but finding a suitable deal isn’t easy at this time of year. There aren’t many sellers and those that are might not have what the Sabres need.

Botterill could be forced to wait another four-to-six weeks for the market to improve as the Feb. 24 trade deadline approaches. That could be too late to help the Sabres.

Definitely disagree with jack bogo point.

Eichel has been hounded 5 on 5 and especially on the PP. Teams have been shutting him down. Teams on the PK literally gravitate to Eichel automatically. (Which I fully understand)

Stop jack ..... stop any Sabres offense .... win the game

It’s so easy for other teams.

Heck. Ralph we so dumb he kept sending the Eichel line vs Bergerons line. Bergeron is the best 2 way center in the game. Send the log (lazar) line at the Bergeron line.

But instead we gave the bruins the match they wanted and Eichel was held pointless

That my friends is bad coaching. We were even the home team and had last change

This can't be true.

Botts clearly has CTE, and that's the real reason he can't make a deal.

This is almost certainly why he stopped going on the radio on fridays as far as I can tell.

"Why aren't you doing anything Jason"

"Look, it's a situation where I cant"

Job's too hard for him

Every single respectable NhL media person has said since October botts has been trying.

You need to overpay to get a good player. The wishful skinner for pennies deals are not current out there.

Botts is most likely scared to make a deal for a good player and pay for it.

Like I mentioned before. Pennies on a dollar type trades. Sheary Miller skinner vesey. You could say 1 worked out and the others have been what you paid for

Reinhart and Dahlin or Leon and Charlie McAvoy actually.

Unless GMTM was watching a 14 year old Dahlin at the time and planned the tank back then kudos to him.

Sure and if you swapped Skinner and Kane the records of both teams would still be the same.

Actually they both might have 2-4 extra points.

With Kane here our PK wouldn’t be 28th and we might have potted a few more PP goals over the last month and a half.

Skinner there might have a few potted a few more at even strength and they have enough fire power there to put together a PP1 that doesn’t include Kane or Skinner.

So, Kane doesn't move the needle at all, overall.

And probably brings extra baggage, bullsh!t, etc.

How many teams are ACTUALLY out of it right now?

He isn't scared to make that deal. Who, on the other end, is ready to MAKE that deal?

Such a deal would probably mean that the other team is basically giving up on the season, if they're trading you their good player for, say, a 1st, top prospect (Mitts), etc, etc.

What GM is ready to do that on Dec 28th?

I honestly don’t see the downfall for overpaying for a good player.

Let’s use Johnny hockey for example (not saying the Sabres are getting him)

If we hypnotically moved mitts + Risto and 1st for Johnny hockey

Who in the hockey world would say “wow what a bad trade”

Literally no one. Because you are getting a good player that you know that is good

If you make that same trade for AA on Detroit then okay. I can see fans and media saying you made a bad trade

I think we need to list out his forwards and where they are in their development curve to this point...

Mitts- rushed but talented... will Taylor fix his game and will he gain the strength to be a top 6 nhl forward.

Cozens - looking like a good one at this point. Don’t rush his work load but looks like he will need to be on the big club due to Ahl age issues and nothing left to prove in Jr’s. Just don’t force him into a 2c roll.

Roustilian (spelling). I think a botts guy. Isn’t looking too bad. Ahl next year? Potential 3/4 c with the big club?

Davidson - anyone got anything on him

Weissbach - hasn’t he been helping super midget look good?

Pekar - echl. Looks feisty. Ahl next year?

Hugland -

Cedarquvist

Rousk.

All 3 2019. I don’t follow prospects close enough to comment on those 3..... and they are 2019, probably need two more years of seasoning....
