Disappointing that hes trusted to kill off over a minute of 5 on 3 but wasnt put out with the goalie pulled especially after how dangerous he was all game offensively. I thought he was making great plays all game. His passing is really good.

Trying to figure out Russian strategy will drive you nuts.

I heard before he was drafted he was a very good smart two way player. Very responsible in his own end.

I think fans jumping off the wagon every shot he misses the net is nuts. He is 18 years old and will only get bigger and stronger. Still 100% happy with the pick.

Not at all. It obviously shows a massive trust from the coach if you start the 5 on 3 as the sole forward. My point was mainly based off his even strength play. He was, in my opinion, one of the most dangerous forwards offensively all game. Thought he deserved to be out there in the final minute with the goalie pulled

I am very happy with the pick now, wasnt overly impressed when announced. I think if today has shown us anything, it's that he plays a very responsible two way game and his vision/passing is super underrated.

I am not impressed with the Russian program overall. I think they have dropped in rankings and skill.

In years past they always had a few special players but they might be lucky to reach the medal rounds.

I seen that in other games Pod has played in that there was no set up man or no finishers for him to work with. He himself has always stood out though.

To be completely honest, I havent paid much attention at all to the Russians at these tournaments in years past due to the canucks not really having many prospects in it. I'll be paying as much attention the the Russians and Swedes as I will team Canada this year though

I don't think it is about favoring, I think it is just simply BPA.I bet if Dach or Cozens, or Byram were in their range, one would be a Canuck Prospect. After Cozens at 7, Newhook at 16 was the next Canadian drafted. Just shows that a lot of teams were on the same page as us.
