They had the same two big players last season.
I think they crash and burn. Finishing with more points than the Oil won't guarantee a play off berth neither. I just see them free falling. - boonerbuck
Oilers are awful. Mcjesus can’t play every game. The minute he gets injured it’s all over. Think their free fall has already started |

It was a treat to watch Quinn Hughes last night, man that kid is good, I've just looked at a lot of the rankings from 2018 and he's anywhere from #5 to #10. In a redraft he'd probably go 4th overall. Damn that kids good!! |

Can Green go head to head with Tippett when the stakes are high? - VanHockeyGuy
Head to head? Do you mean playoffs? Canucks and Oil are done for the regular season. Do you mean a standings race?
Can Tippet go head to head with anyone with a depthless team? Not in the past. He's done admirably well from time to time though.

Definitely not!! The Oilers goaltending is better this year, it's not great, but it's better. That and they have a bit better depth, defense, as well as the coaching, makes it an interesting watch.
Nashville is just a much better team, at least on paper, although they haven't really shown it yet. Same goes for Dallas, not by huge margins though, imo they're just a better team. - Pacificgem
Things are really going to start happening for the oil when their D prospects come in very soon. Going to be a much deeper PP and open up trade options.

Same. You can hear the bomb whistling even though it hasnt passed us yet.
I was surprised when they said Kassian doesnt have a single PP point this season. |

When we did the top 10 prediction in the days leading up to the draft, I had him at 4oa. Was drooling when Bennings turn came up. Not as bad as him though.

JB's load went off in his pants when he picked QH. |

It seemed a bit exaggerated at the time but knowing what we know now... not at all.
Anyone notice how he stays on his feet when engaged? Impressive for such a small player who possesses the puck more often than most of the league. He gets smothered on the boards occasionally but he's incredibly strong on his feet when moving.

Happy Holidays!
Nice gift from the Canucks last night — a comeback win and lots of positive storylines to take us through the Christmas break.
Quinn Hughes is, deservedly, getting plenty of praise for his play at both ends of the ice. I was pretty delighted for Tyler Motte — he's been great since he got back into the lineup and it was nice to see him rewarded with a goal.

If they stick to Tippett's system they'll make the WC. If they stray the they are screwed. Tippett should get them in. |
