I wouldn't mind Kempe on this team.
- mhp

Go further: trade for Kempe and Toffoli. Don't let them leave town.

it should also be stated Allen really wants to be in Buffalo and win there. That's not always the case with players. Jim Kelly, looking at you.

In the few people with proven CTE, symptoms have included:

Difficulty thinking (cognitive impairment)

Depression or apathy

Short-term memory loss

Difficulty planning and carrying out tasks (executive function)

CTE symptoms don't develop right after a head injury, but experts believe that they might develop over years or decades after repeated head trauma.

All fine traits for a GM. At least Botterill isn’t borderline retarded as well. The borderline retarded label is reserved for the owner who hired the guy who had to retire early from hockey because of repeated head trauma to run his organization.

Botts has made mistakes, but to say he doesn't know how to build a team, he had a pretty good hand in a few cups for Pitt. and it does take 2 to tango, and we shouldn't just want a trade to appease us, cause that happens and he will be getting ripped for that.

I have appreciated what Botts’ has done trying to build through the draft, but potentially missing on Mittelstadt is huge.

I think a majority of people here before the season started thought this would be a club that played meaningful games late in the season and be a club that hovered somewhere around 85-90 points.

We have a 3rd line LW playing Center right now in Mojo and the need for a stop gap 2C was as evident July 1st as it is now.

Like you said it takes two to tango, and at the end of the day he has not made a panic move to address the roster. I would rather make the right move then the most time efficient move.

3/4 of the roster are UFA/RFA at years end and he has not handcuffed us long term which is ultimately the most important thing as the best years of the franchise are yet to come.

I think of this season as the one the Bills had last year. Get some dead money off the books, hit the ground running next year. However the team is still in the hunt this year and he could at the very least move out a d-man for another depth forward (as he has been trying to do by the sounds of it for some time).

Agree Pegs, he is gonna make a move, it's just taking longer than most people want

If/when Botts gets axed it’s going to be because he blew the Mittelstadt pick not because of anything else has has done.

Sure he has moved a plethora of mid round picks for guys to try and win now while attempting to restock the pipeline with talent. It hasn’t paid out immediate dividends as I’m sure all of us hoped for but like I said in the previous post, we have a lot of options in the offseason and apart from Okposo we don’t have any useless players that we are married to long term.

Yes it hurts with Mitts, drafting players in Hockey is like a crap shot, they are so young you hope they hit there potential but you really don't know.

John Vogel took a screen shot of mitts first few games. Pretty ugly. No pounds barely any shots. The fall from where mitts was at after his freshman year it’s incredible.

Coming off a good freshman year and great world juniors. He had 5 points in 6 nhl games.

What happened ....

Josh Allen is my QB and I'm very excited to watch him grow with this team.
- TheSabresTaco

If I could describe Josh Allen is three words it would be :

Not. Quite. There

Will he ever get there ? In my opinion, no. I agree that he has a certain "it" factor, but that's just not enough for our team to become a playoff winning team. And then there's the whole Buffalo-luck thing. We can't have nice things, therefore Josh Allen won't become the QB we're hoping for. This is the truth.

I have spoken.

It takes two to tango is so lame. Botts isn’t the last GM on earth searching high and low for another of his kind. Make an offer another GM wants and it’s done.

I think every GM in the league is looking for another top 6 forward. Not many teams are looking to give them away.

The Kings have Toffoli on an expiring deal and there could be something there but are you willing to outpay other teams for him right now with the state the team is in ?

Yeah True, but not many GM's have cap space right now, and it makes it harder. Don't think it's as easy as you make it.

In his 3 games he has been paired with some of the Amerks best wingers- Leier, Ogelvie, CJ. Last night his wingers were Leier and CJ. No excuses. Let's Go Amerks had some good thoughts on Mitts. His perimeter play is weak, he's been lazy, not creating, almost like he's going through the motions down there. I hate to say it but he seems to be following the Alex Nylander AHL way. They played lowly Binghamton for the first two games, he should have shredded that team with opportunities and scoring chances. He got zip.

So I guess the refs missed the face mask on Allen on that 4th down play?

Really don't know about him, might be time to cut bait with him and see if he still has value. But he is still very young and players mature at different times

Intentional grounding in the 1st quarter, on the 30 yard pass to Edelman, Phillips getting mugged at the line.
