Ullmark hasn’t looked good either.
- dadeadhead

If not for Ullmark I think Toronto could have had about 5 more goals in that game.

Can anyone say objectively that Erod will get a new contract with this team, and will it exceed 2M
- TheSabresTaco

He's cold garbage.

I mean getting a top 6 forward for a 2nd round pick is good business.

Overpaying that player and giving him 8 years instead of 5 is bad business.

If we had to take a short term loss in letting him walk for free, it will hurt a lot less than him being a boat anchor when we need the cash the most.

Eichel isn’t 32, he’s 23. Dahlin is 19.

- Pegullaville

So I'm curious, is he bad now, or the contract. If he had done a 9x5 would you be in the camp that it's a streak, a lousy streak, a very unfortunate streak that needs to be fixed (and the amount of chances would indicate that it will)? I've seen a very conflicting narrative about this. Either the player is good and the contract is bad, or both are bad.

Yes, ive blamed everything on Skinner.

Its like i didn't say in my post "Get him better linemates"

Perhaps i should have bolded, or underlined or put it in all caps.

Point still stands, 9MM player only netting 40 points, you are in trouble.

- ImThatGuy

Yes you did say that he needs better linemates. So what's the point of beating a dead horse. The guy needs a legit center just like many other players in the league. End of story move on, if he was struggling to score playing with eichel then would say you're in trouble.

Erod just cannot finish a play whether it is passing or shooting.

That Skinner contract is brutal. He never should have been signed.

There are still only a few that have a problem with his contract at this point. Tuesday was a day that Skinner needed to put at least something on the board, though. That's what he gets paid for.
- buffalofan19

Hawks could’ve used goals from Toews or Kane last night
The Oilers could’ve picked up at least a point McDavid or Draisaitl scores last night
Too bad Getzlaf couldn’t score last night to help the ducks

I guess all these players just aren’t that good

COrrect.

For his contract he shouldn't necessarily need and elite level player (Like Eichel) to put up 60 points.

He also has no buisness playing with Erod.

With all of that said. I believe his best years in Carolina were with Viktor Rask.
He got moved off of the top line with Staal because they could never mesh.

- ImThatGuy

And he played the best this season with MoJo and the dirty pod racer. You all LAUGHED IN MY FACE when I said that DPR did stuff for that line that MoJo and Skinner can't/ won't/ we don't want them doing for the betterment of that line/the team. DPR goes down, Skinner isn't scoring. AGAIN WITH THE LAUGHING.

I'm not worried about Skinner but he really does seem to have off seasons every other year or so.

Skinner is a great hockey player, that contract flat out sucks though. That contract hurts the team more then Skinner’s production helps the team.

We should scratch Skinner & tank for another top10 pick this year

Fair enough, at least I get where you stand now. I don't think that adding 3 different 3M players gets better results long term (I know you named some before, but for everyone of those, there's 3 Sheary's and the like). It would be great to just get the good 3M players to fortify the roster, but Skinner was never walking. He'll bounce back this year, hopefully, and the contract will be just fine for 1-5 and then we'll revisit then. Hopefully, again, it won't be a team killer then.

In general from what I've seen, like last year he's being overworked. They need to figure out if Hutton can be the guy every 3rd game or not. Thus far its not......again.

I know this is complete satire, but imagine Lafreniere on Eichel’s wing, or Byfield and Cozens making uo 2/3 of our 2nd line ? It would be a lot of fun.

No, I’m not endorsing us to throw away this season before you start calling me a crappy fan again. This years team is much better than last years version.

No he took a penalty on the 5th of Dec, on the 2nd of Dec, on the 14th, on the 8th in Nov., and then 3 penalties on 24th of Oct., so no I am not making poop up.
- Buff36

I thought you were talking about 5v5 as that always seems to be the crux of Skinner discussions.

Since the 3 penalty game (anomaly) against the Rangers on October 24th, I still only see 3 total penalties taken by Skinner (11/8, 12/5, 12/10), while having drawn 7.

I found no record of a penalty taken on December 2nd by Skinner. I also found no penalty taken by Skinner on December 14th or November 14th.

He's taken three total penalties since October 24th. Hardly a cause for concern.

23 games til the TDL

A perfect test of the Botterill conundrum. If he doesn't get help soon it's possible he's a seller. If he gets help now, he's a buyer

Their defacto 2nd line has a bigger negative impact than Eichel has a positive one during his bajillion game point streak.
- Sabresfan-365

You could argue the Larsson, Okposo, Girgensons line is the real 2nd line?

He set up Johansson with a glorious opportunity and he missed.

He was also set up on the doorstep and Andersen got his pad over

I’ll worry when those things aren’t happening

I didn't specify, but that's factored in. 23 from 11:59 on the 27th

Yeah like that makes sense, you now a bad game here and there. Not oh what is it 26 goals in the last 82 games. But who cares he still has 47 games to get his average this year.

I’m looking forward to when Skinner takes a shot and it hits 3 people, hits the post, off the referee and goes in, and we pretend he found his game
