Honestly who would rather have dahlin than winning hockey right now?

We werent supposed to be tanking anymore to get dahlin in the first place. Our timeline got completely (frank)ed up by not having anything to put around eichel reinhart kane and oreilly

When did I ever say Evander Kane was crap ? Your entire reply just proved the point I was making. So much for reading comprehension. It takes a team to win not individual players.

We sucked then, we suck now, due to lack of depth.

- Pegullaville

I did not prove your point for you. I would take Kane and ROR on this team now over all the players we traded for them and all the players we traded them for and you're a fool if you think we aren't a better team last year and this year with those 2 players. Look at our opening night lineup and seriously tell me we aren't missing those exact two pieces? Those "individual players" were both TOP 6 FORWARDS, of which, we are severely lacking right now.

If we keep them our top-6 is:

Olofsson - Eichel - Reinhart
Skinner - ROR - Mojo
Kane - Mittelstadt - Okposo
Girgensons - Larsson - Sheary

Tell me now how this isn't better in every single way than what we have iced this season?

That is over 60 points we're missing from our top-9. From only 2 players. Those 2 players are what we are missing more than anything right now.

Sure and the Sharks are sputtering now with Kane.

I get it, the Blues won the cup, they had a very good roster top to bottom and quite honestly it was such Buffaluck they went from handing us a top 15 pick to winning the cup after firing a coach and calling up an AHL back-up tendy.

Fact of the matter is, the Blues were a 94 point team before adding ROR. They had one of the best d-corps in the league and have depth all throughout their forward lineup.

GMTM depleted whatever depth we had. With Eichel and ROR we finished last and got Dahlin.

Teams win, not individual players.

Botterill has no idea how to evaluate forwards or build a balanced team for that matter. He's like a defensive coordinator who gets promoted to head coach and poops all over himself

Most of that quality depth wasnt ready yet at that time, we were going to be losing games regardless

Murray traded like 14 goalies the year of mceichel

I have appreciated Botts’ patience the last few years and saw the method of establishing the pipeline as it was bones dry. Like yourself and others have said though and I agreed with, Risto for a top 6 forward trade has needed to be made since July 1st.

Even if it’s Miller + at this point there is no excuse for having this many d-men.

I was all for getting Cozens last year because that team was flat out bad and no move was saving that team.

This year though they have controlled shot shares more often then not and have shown to be much better then last years version but if they don’t want to be picking in the 10-15 range then they need to make a move.

I’m sure he’s enjoying the blow out loss right now

There you go again, you can't help yourself. Projecting your folly on a poster who calls you out for what you do.

As a matter of fact, I don't care that they lost tonight, it was one game. Life goes on, except for you apparently. You'd probably hate Mario because he was a FOA and his stats always paled compared to Gretzky's.

And this here, folks, is the painful truth of the entire post-Darcy era.

When all is said and done, he really was Emperor Palpatine with that "suffering" comment he made when he got canned.

Ralph Krueger was very strange on Jack Eichel: “It was something that evolved in warm-ups, so we‘ll just look at the situation and get back to you tomorrow on that. ... Let’s not speak about the specifics right now. We’ll fill you in once we’ve assessed the situation.”

The NHL has had a lot of games like this so far, lop-sided.

What we have in Buffalo right now is a bona-fide John Tavares situation.

If you think Eichel isn't going to Boston at the end of this deal, you are out of your mind.

Tonight was typical of what we have seen in the NHL this season yet different. Jack Eichel, in a game where he didn't play, emerged as the favorite for the Hart Trophy and if anyone thinks otherwise, they're an absolute moron.

Dahlin will develop into one of the best Buffalo Sabres of all-time, and thank god we landed him with that lottery pick but it's clear that as far as this season goes, the Sabres live and die by Jack Eichel and even with him, they are a fringe playoff team. We will be a bubble team all season and with the way Carter Hutton has played for the past 2 months and the fact that Ullmark is probably developing into a decent back-up, at best, we will be lucky to even sniff the playoffs unless Botterill pulls the trigger on a trade to land us a legitimate 2nd line center.

Literally he just needs to put a guy between Skinner and Mojo and we will be a much better team.

I honestly do a Ristolainen for Ryan Nugent Hopkins deal and I think both teams need to stop coveting what is an equal trade. Nothing else across the league allows us to avoid complicating the cap and if we need to sweeten with mid round pick then we can afford to part with one.

The impact RNH has on this team and that Risto would have for them is what makes this trade a wash, imo.

But seriously watch these idiots free up cap by dumping Scandella for a pick and go sign Kovalchuk and pretend it's going to help
