Not even 3 months into an 8 year contract and there are already articles about Skinner’s performance. It’s like a certain galaxy brain called this back in April, 2 months before he even signed on the dotted line.

Just stop.

Sorry man, I was right with you about not giving Skinner 9m. He's played fine. He's generating chances at an elite level. The goals will come and go, in cycles, as they have his entire career.

Kyle Okposo useless, or everyone here says. He has averaged 35 points per year playing for Buffalo. "Boat anchor contract"

Skinner at 9mil on pace for 40 points this year.

One guy useless, other guy analytics darling.

I'm not saying hes done for but i think a lot of people are trying very hard not to have buyers remorse or let that thought creep in.

get him better linemates, do what you have to do, but if you have a 9 million dollar player only netting 40 points you are in trouble.

I'd like to see a guy like kucherov play with e-rod as his center. I'm sure he and Rodriguez would be tearing up the league.

Here is what I will ask all of you. If this is the production Skinner nets for the life of the contract. Are we happy?

There are more people on here more worried about proving other people wrong than ACTUALLY caring if this team wins or loses, though, I am convinced of that.

The guy is 35 games into his big contract, playing with either scrubs or another guy (Mojo) that's struggling right now.

Me? I'm not ready to bury him like some others are. He'll bounce back.

Yes, ive blamed everything on Skinner.

Its like i didn't say in my post "Get him better linemates"

Perhaps i should have bolded, or underlined or put it in all caps.

Point still stands, 9MM player only netting 40 points, you are in trouble.

IM not burying him at all.

This is partially JB and Ralphies fault.

They are playing Skinner with Scrubs.

JB needs to get in another top 6 center to help Skinner.
Ralphie needs to get Skinner more time with Eichel.

As I will continue to say, 9mm for 40, nothing good can come from that.

If you really think that, we need him for this team to take the next step. I don't think it's wrong to want more out of players. Yes he needs better linemates, but just don't blame the linemates because he gets his chances.

I agree that 40 points @ his current salary isn't good enough.

He's getting chances.

They'll start to go in.

I mean getting a top 6 forward for a 2nd round pick is good business.

Overpaying that player and giving him 8 years instead of 5 is bad business.

If we had to take a short term loss in letting him walk for free, it will hurt a lot less than him being a boat anchor when we need the cash the most.

Eichel isn’t 32, he’s 23. Dahlin is 19.

The only reason Hutton is starting is because it is his birthday.

I understand his impact in generating chances doesn’t show up in point totals, I also understand he’s not set up to succeed with his current line mates. I didn’t think the 40 goal and 64 point Jeff Skinner was worth the 8 year deal either though at $9M per.

To quote Dwight Schrute: "If onlys and justs were candies and nuts, then everyday would be Erntedankfest"

Thats not what JB did. And if this Skinner deal isnt good, well, he's got Montour and three years worth of tank picks to show for his time here

Not good.

Many agreed, and yes he is probably overpaid.

The Sabres were in a no win situation.

The way Skinner was playing letting him walk was career suicide for JB in Buffalo.
Fans would have roasted him and this team for never signing good players.

I think someone stated that Hutton (Sutton) is 4-1 against the Flyers with a decent save percentage in his career.

Ullmark has played a lot.

Load management.

I don't know. I'm not a doctor.
