the Eichel line leads the team in scoring...sam is third on the team and is on pace to top his seasonal production for the fourth straight year...he ain't chopped liver...just wish he had more conviction to his game
- Michael Pachla

Part of the bolded is wishing a horse was a giraffe. The other part is, maybe I'm getting senile, but I saw Reinhart get physical with a few hits last night. I've also seen him be about the only one to stand up for cheap hits on Eichel (Cernak, for example). Is that not conviction? If you're looking for him to play heavy hockey to satisfy what you want, that just isn't his game, and if you can't handle that, then you are in the trade him camp.

I know you have a full day agenda of bashing Botterill, with no actual solution of your own, but

Check out the standings

Absolutely brutal?

*sorry joe3 , I know I have to tread delicately. Hope this was gental enough?

- Boss34

A combination of Mittelstadt, Miller and a 1st would get a center.

As long as Botterill is more concerned with his stable of 12 NHL defensemen than finding a center, we're going to be spinning our wheels

3-1-2 with Eichel scoring 11 points in 6 games.

Rw in. Rw out. How’s that help?
- Gr8daygo

It doesn't.

That's called "wheel spinning".

you're confusing talent with conviction...sam's talent is that of a no.2 overall pick...McCabe's talent is that of second round pick

Being that they're in 2nd place in the division and currently in a playoff spot, I bet you that if this team had a GM you approved of, you'd use another word besides "brutal".

Because it's FAR from brutal.

- Powerslave

That's where they are right now.

Without bringing in another impact forward, what's your confidence level at them making the playoffs?

If they pull another slow fade to Bolivian and miss the playoffs again while Botterill refuses to part with any of toys, there should be hell to pay.

How long do you think that's going to last with tampa and the leafs in the rear view?

The wildcard is a poop show. We're 2 points out of 9th

never said I wanted him to play heavy hockey...i know the type of player he is...but imo, the last two games he's not done the work needed to have an impact whether it's scoring or setting up

My point was, this certainly isn't "brutal". Not even close.

And maybe there will be hell to pay, but I doubt it. I think he gets another year.

Is it though?

Tuch is signed long term at a reasonable cost that will be much less than Sam gets. He's big, physical, plays the type of game the team needs, and is signed until he's 30.

He would also likely produce more than he already does when on a line with Eichel.

Now you're talking, but that would take a LOT.

They'd be much more inclined to try and include Stastny with Tuch for cap reasons.

I thought NHL calibre d-men were a scarce commodity, especially RHDs.

We have several:

RHD:
Risto
Miller
Joker
Montour
Bogo
Borgen

LHD:
Dahlin
McCabe
Scandella
Gilmour
Pilut

It is going to be a fireable offence if GMJB isn’t able to capitalize on this surplus and acquire a forward or two to help Coach Krueger.

You make that move and bring in a center and you're off to the races.

I'm not so sure how much less the production would be with Tuch on Eichel's line.

The points can not be argued. Impresseive point stats for sure. Whether or not it would happen without eichel is the question?

Not seeing him as a playoff force

I'm all for improving this team.

I'd like to add to the existing talent we have, but if it makes the team better, I'm down.

My biggest gripe with Reinhart is how often he likes to get the puck off his stick quickly. He does not seem to like to hold on to it for long and make plays that way.

If he added that to his game, I doubt any of us would be complaining anymore.

From what 89 and Homie have said, he wants to keep all his toys. That's not going to cut it.

I think you solve two issues with that move: Reinhart's next (2) contracts and how much he'll cost, and adding more physicality to the team while still being able to produce an offensive impact.

The fear is the team slowly fades out of the playoffs as the season moves along, without any further moves being made until it's too late. If that happens again this season, I will not blame one person for wanting Botterill's head.
- kingcong39

Maybe the plan is to win next year in our original colors?

Maybe botts is listening to ownership?

I have tickets that I resell.
I'm invested emotionally and somewhat financially.

Winning now would be great.
Winning next year and for years to come would be better
