His 1st year will be nothing but his total contract will be huge imho or he isn’t leaving Russia.
- nyisles7

He still has to sign an entry level contract with a cap. Any team can not resign him or not when that’s done. He knows that coming to the NHL. The risk is minimal to any team with little financial risk. His second contract may or may not be huge depending on how he plays. Any team that signs him can dump him whenever they want before his entry level is over.

Plenty of time since Varly is here for the foreseeable future (at least until Seattle expansion draft) and Greiss should be a relatively simple re-signing.

I don’t think he has to sign a typical ELC. Only 1 year , I could be wrong.

Which if your right, why would he come here and play for peanuts when he can re sign in Russia for millions per year.

Honestly if he comes he will have a contract extension in principle with the Isles or whoever, or else again why would he come, Chief’s glory hole?

Edit:Just confirmed it, his ELC will be 925 k for 1 year.

Well they have one year to figure out whether he’s worth a contract or not. Contract “in principle” means nothing.😂

Lou may need to draft a goalie or two.

We’ll trade you Ho Sang, Bellows, and a 2nd for Palmeri. That’s a better return than you just got for Hall😂😉

Is he still hurt, or is his confidence just absolutely shot?

Minors, and they didn't even consider him backup with Dominque on IR.

The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun listed seven clubs – the Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, and Montreal Canadiens – believed to have inquired into Hall’s availability. Most were unwilling to match the Coyotes offer of a first-round pick, conditional third-round pick that can become a first and three prospects.

There’s one team mysteriously off this list...

So the Islanders are retiring Goring's number but they're doing it at a home game against Boston. Why wouldn't they wait and retire his number when Toronto is in town! It would be awesome seeing #91 raised to the rafters in front of you know who! Maybe Butch could even come out to make his speech wearing Islanders pajamas!!!

I like the sentiment... but I like it better that it has nothing to do with Snake boy. Butch deserves to have his number retired for what he has done for the Islanders organization. 4 cups, great 2 way center, tons of huge short handed goals, 6 game winning goals in the playoffs, Conn Smythe winner in 1981, over 100 goals in his 5 year stint on the Island.... And then all he has done since that.. coached the AHL team, Coached the NHL team, and has been the TV Color guy for the team for a decade. .... Freak Pajama boy.. this is about Butch. I am happy he is getting his number retired b/c it will mean so much more to him than almost anyone else that has played for this team. He will be in tears as they raise his name up next to his former teammates.

Due to it having nothing to do with Tavares. It would be an insult to Goring to make it about anything but him. The guy couldn’t be more excited about his number getting retired. Would’ve happened even if Tavares was still here unless Goring requested not too so Tavares could keep his number.

Pretty sure professional sports teams also don't hold ceremonies out of spite for players who left the team

Well to be fair Tavares’s first game back was like a ceremony. A ceremony straight out of the depths of hell😂
