totally understandable but (most) smart GMs wouldnt be giving up valuable pieces for a 45 game rental. Hall seems dead set on testing free agency (i dont blame him) so NJ was never going to get great assets. 3 potential NHL players, even if bottom of lineup, is still nothing to scoff at

There's a hard 1st-round pick in the Hall trade PLUS another conditional 1st-round pick IF the Coyotes re-sign Hall AND win a playoff round. The conditional pick becomes a third-round pick if neither of those things happen. And a 2nd-round pick if one of those 2 things happen

It's hindsight, but I thought nj could see from the end of last year that hall was gone. Should have traded him last tdl or in the offseason could have gotten more for a team hoping to sign him. But then again nj prob needed to sell hope to their Sth base of 15.

My opinion..

The hit on TK was not nearly as late and their heads hitting was just a function of the hit.

The hit by Farabee was substantially later and while their heads didnt hit it was a different type of play than the TK hit.
