Fletcher owes the fans and NAK an apology for trying to gaslight us into thinking Chris Stewart was a better NHL option in 19-20 |

similar yes, but neal's hit was two or three seconds late with more of a run. IMO - Peter Richards
I'm not sure how you can say that when you watch the Neal and Farabee hits back to back.
IMO the only difference is that Neal leaves his feet. Beyond that the timing is essentially the same.
Some of us think it was a major and some don't and that is with the benefit of watching it over and over in slow motion from the perfect off ice angle. Gives an appreciation for how hard it can be to be a ref sometimes. |

Coots? Someone said what would you get for Coots?
Anyone near his equivalent would be COSTLY, not necessarily as durable, inferior at face offs, not as coachable, defensively lesser and more penalty prone.
He is in his prime and a genuine candidate for a Selke. He has shown the ability to be a potential (quiet) superstar and is a nice guy.
What a madness to be possessed by the merest momentary reflection that to toss him into a lottery pool is cool.
He is the most irreplaceable piece of this team.
(Yeah, he's my favorite toothless guy in the league.)

So you would be ok with NAK being in the pressbox for long stretches instead of playing.
And dont give me your bullpoop hindsight opinion.

To get Couturier, I would need a massive overpayment with star power. I'm talking Matthews-level star power.
So essentially, he is untouchable. |

Yeah that's silly. Couturier is and has been IMO the Flyers MVP forward skater for at least 2 and a half seasons. The problem is the Flyers need something more than what Giroux is bringing to go along with Couturier. Most top contender teams have a top 2 star player combo. Flyers don't have that right now. |

Giroux is one full season removed from a 100 point year. Granted, that was primarily while playing on Coots' wing, but I still think he's a star player. |

When i list out my untouchables on this team I go in this order
Hart
Provy
Coots
TK
Sanheim
One of Frost or Farabee
It pains me to not have Giroux on that list. From a certain segment of "fan" he gets 0 respect yet has had 4 seasons of 85 points or higher, 1 season of 100 points and has been durable.
That being said, if he and Jake could be moved in a Richards and Carter type scenario i would go for that . |

Giroux as an untouchable isnt an opinion. He has a NMC and has no interest in leaving. He's here to stay. He isnt movable.

he could be tired of failing all the time |

Worst thing this team could do is make a big move just for the sake of getting into the playoffs.
This is just an horrible set of circumstances they have to push through. Ride it out and wherever the chips fall, they fall. |

team needs more players from Canada: Ghost for Toffoli + 3rd - Bayareaflyer
Chuck has major wood for US born players. First chance he got this offseason he traded for two and drafted three US players before taking anyone from anywhere else. |

Players get NMCs for the purpose of having a say where they go when they leave. Giroux can give whatever canned response he wants but at the end of the day he's been here 10 years and never made the area his full time home. If push comes to shove I don't see why he wouldn't waive if the team tells him they've decided to move on. You don't even have to look at other teams for examples. They did that exact thing to Hartnell.
That said I don't really see a reason to be shopping him now. If anything that's an offseason move. |

Just a tough situation. After Farabee is suspended they will be down 7 forwards. Tough to win that way.
Fletcher needs to bring in a forward in trade and then hope everyone else isn't long term injured.
Hopefully, homecooking can get them back in the win column. - mickel25
Please no reactionary trades due to the current situation. Continue to focus on what this season should be about which is developing the young players. |

Its not about having a say, they get these because they dont want to move. NHL players dont like having to move their familys when they get traded. Giroux has a family in Philadelphia. He isnt going to have any intention of moving his family elsewhere especially with a newborn. |

I was thinking the same thing, actually.
I wonder if this will make all Winnipeg fans say they will never want Farabee on their team because of 1 hit. - jmatchett383

I’ll give you Connor for Farbree and Myers today. |

it was a second after he passes the puck (maybe 1.5 who knows. watch the seconds on the clock from when he passes to when he was hit.) I also do not considered getting up, taking two strides to be taking a run at a player. I mentioned the konecny hit bc others brought it up. there was an injury on that play as well. I said it at the time i was fine with the konecny hit. What i was pointing out is, i have witnessed many other hits to be more dangerous, later, boarding and or charging that are never even called. - Peter Richards
In terms of in a hockey sense, the hit was way late. He was pissed, got up and looked for the first player he could take a run at and leveled the player when he wasn't looking. I agree there have been many other hits that are more dangerous but let's not sugar coat his actions here. |

But but but but
He injured one of your players, just like Kurtis Gabriel did to Nolan Patrick last year.
You guys need to pick one designated poster to moan and complain about about Farabee every day for being such a terribly dirty player. |

Players with NMC's have been traded countless times. They have a NMC to prevent them from being traded somewhere they don't want to go and to have say in the matter. Not to never be traded. Do you think Giroux wants to win a Cup? |

They have but its rare. Giroux is a competitive guy like myself. He is the type of guy that wants to lead his team to a championship not just go to a team with a better shot. He would have left long ago if that was the case, well before signing his current deal. |
