Tell him to play but for the love of god dont get hurt like last year...long time before the trade deadline... Shero is getting taken to woodshed it seems with offers fitting of an ageing winger approaching 30...now Larsson plays 20 mins a night on pk and makes $4 million a year and his team looking at playoffs...hmm let's revisit who won that trade again???

The Devils are on crack if they think they are getting all of that for a rental. There is no way Hall signs before July 1. He would be stupid if he did. Yes he might lose that 8th year but he could get traded, check out that market for 4-6 months and if he doesn't like it go UFA. To lock in now before he plays 1 game is doing himself a disservice.

The Devils are going to get a 1st, a player and maybe a good prospect depending where the pick is. The Devils can ask for whatever they want but smart teams will let them twist in the wind knowing they have to trade him or lose him for nothing. The price will come down and that is when it will get interesting.

Pierre McGuire said it's an old savvy GM move to hold a player out of the line-up to make everyone THINK you have an imminent deal with one team to pressure another. And it's not even Ray's move.

1) You called it? Dude - it didn't matter if he wanted to sign there long term or not - the Devils got an MVP for a #3 defenceman - they are now going to turn that into likely 2 good young pieces, which is EXACTLY what a rebuilding organization should do.

2) Mickey Mouse organization... since the Oil last won a Cup, the Devils have won 3 Cups, lost twice in the Cup finals....

3) Larsson plays 20 minutes a night? Who cares? That's 2nd pairing minutes.

Fair points. Larsson has been used and abused in Edmonton. Their D has been hampered with injuries the last two years and Larsson has been leaned on heavily.
I think he’s better than what his stats show.
He also fractured his tibia in game #1 if the season. I’d like to cut him a bit of slack.
