Dude looks like he's on the verge of tears. He's not the problem.

Botterill goes and gets a 2nd line Center and that should help. We need a Center and RW.

Any winger, Olofsson could switch sides. He already plays RW on the PP.

He needs to get a center first, Skinner needs a center very bad.

Sheary switched sides and it's worked out great. No reason Olofsson can't do the same.

I just can’t stress enough how little I care about overpaying or who isn’t earning their contract

We have a shot at being really good, like right now. And this dingleberry GM won’t get ballsy.

The Leafs aren’t great

The Bruins are slipping

The Bolts are asleep.

You have Eichel having maybe the best year he ever has, and some emerging young D men.

(frank)ing go for it

- sbroads24

We can all haggle over who to get, but the bottom line is agreed on all of the above.

Stop waiting and start making moves.

eichel and his 17 game point streak say hi.

Olofsson has been best thing that happened to Jack.

Maybe flip Reinhart with Asplund or Vesey to get our $9M even strength goal scorer going.

- Pegullaville

Olofsson was invisible 5 on 5 for the first 20 games of the season attributing Jacks point streak to him is a stretch- Olofsson is racking up points because he plays with Eichel it's not the other way around.
Olofsson needs a contract after the season so let's inflate his value and play him with Eichel then pay him market rate and then next year play him with someone else and expect the same production- so we can do the same thing to Olofsson that we did with Skinner

I was quoting someone else.

I agree, skinner is the problem. A center would help, but he needs to score. Period.

- Boss34

Yup, hey let's try this on Olofsson, see what happens to the golden boy...
- cut his TOI by 25%
- take him of line 1, put him with Vesey as his center, Girgenson as his RW
See if his shots and high danger opportunities de rease by say 20-30% and therefore his scoring dries-up.

We're not helping our cap either we'll be forced to pay Reinhart and Olofsson as first line wingers cause they'll rack up points with Jack- maybe next year we can move MoJo to Jack's wing so he can have a career year and we can pay him too

This team right now is like a dog sled team with Eichel being the lead dog and a bunch of wiener dogs behind him not helping and struggling to even keep up.

I think it's more like the lead dog is great, you have a few more decent dogs, a couple crappy dogs, but there's a couple dogs missing from the pack, which would cover up the crappy dogs and improve the decent dogs.

DO SOMETHING, BOTTS!

Olofsson & Asplund played well together in Rochester
So what if we tried this:

Skinner-Jack-Sam
Olofsson-Asplund-MoJo

- jdfitz77

I actually like thus idea, give it 5 -7 games to reunite the chemistry.

If that doesn't work, try this for several games

VO - Eichel- - Asplund(?)
Skinner - Rhino - Mojo

this team is a #2 Center, winger & better Goalie away from being Elite. unless your drafting in the top 10, first rounders are a crap shoot, I would trade my next 2 first rounders along with prospects for a legit #2 center and a scoring winger

Similar to what I said yesterday, picks and prospects are great until you need to use them. I would be all for landing an established top 6 center and RW. People will whine and complain about dealing Cozens Asplund etc but can anyone say omg I wish we had prospect X back who we traded. Like who is the best producing Sabre prospect on another team?

Brayden McNabb woulda been nice. But the Sabres haven't been in a position to deal NHL caliber prospects for a long time.

I bet the Leafs woulda changed their mind about dealing Rask.
Washington dealing Forsberg
Edmonton dealing the pick for Mat Barzal
Sabres dealing the pick for Kyle Connor
Ottawa dealing Zibanijad

Relating directly to your point, the Sabres have been good, as most teams are, at not truly (frank)ing up a trade of a prospect. Brayden McNabb is a nice player. Paul Byron is a very solid bottom 6. Joker and Nylander is a wash, being that is was prospect for prospect. Same with Hodgson and Kassian. Montour will likely be a win for us. So is Jeff Skinner. Hickey and Fasching is a wash. Compher and Zadorov are decent players. Lemieux and Armia are fine. But no. There's really no blatant (frank) ups in the past 15 years.

I wouldn’t deal Cozens or the 2020 first rounder.

Anything else should be on the table however including Reinhart if need be.

so your goign to nit pick deals over a decade... got it

Again I said the Sabres prospects so the top guy to "get back " is McNabb so yeah deal all the prospects. TBH I dont trust this organization drafting. Out of 100 draft picks since Murray people will pick out 1 or 2 players.

The 1st id deal for the need
Cozens Ill deal if im getting a stud back under contract

For example the crazy ask for Ehlers of yesterday. Id deal Cozens for a deal that involved him

I'd deal 21/23 players on this team if the value was right. Also, 42/44 total contracts owned by the Sabres, I would deal if the value was right.
