I mentioned this weeks ago and got lambasted cause hes young and producing for them
- hubie

First of all, it only matters if they laughed at you.

Second, who would lambast you for wanting JGP? He's a nice player. Not ideal for a guy like Skinner, but a good player none the less.

With Arizona getting Hall I wonder if Söderberg would be available? He could fill in at 2C and move Mojo to the wing. Bogo for Söderberg only $390k difference in contracts. AZ is kind of thin at RD.

He must be shocked that GMs arent lining up for an oft-injured, $5m dman with 2 bionic hips and a bad attitude
- jcragcrumple

I don't know why I'm stepping in dog poop but here goes..

Does wanting to be traded to get more ice time in a 30 y/o contract year equate to a bad attitude?

What a piece of turd. Pretty stupid of him (or his agent) to publicly demand a trade - in his contract year no less. Let him rot. He can sign as a UFA to play in the KHL next year.
- SabreWest

listening to NHL on Sirius right after that Barnaby and the other guy on were laughing and saying what could they even get for him

Another year, another lost talent from Ottawa's incredibly impressive depth drafting.

His attitude during his interviews is what gives him a bad attitude. He's so mopey sounding. We can debate whether the attitude is warranted, but he does have a bad one.

well buffalo has about 12 dmen ahead of him on the depth chart and they keep adding more so i get the crappy attitude.

I won't argue that. Just the principle as presented with wanting a trade. Not that I give a poop. Get him TF outta here 4 years ago.

Ralph is the king of positivity. Until Bogo embraces his Niederlagen, he's not going to have any Erfolg. He needs to adjust his attitude if he's going to play

Guy gets absolutely caved in on possession, on a team that prides itself on forecheck. However, the value is probably pretty close here. It's really not a terrible trade.

I'm with you taco.

Maybe bogo flew off the handle, wanting to play for a good team while finally healthy. 1st opportunity as a sabre to play meaningful games. (Probably peg too)

Wrong thing to do, but forgivable

One thing for me
The media often blows things out of context. Is he being hammered from saying something like if they arent goign to play me yes id rather be traded than sitting or something to that extent.

His timing was atrocious, but no one has any idea when that request was made. It could have been months ago. Not a lot of info falls out of the Sabres' office, so there's a real chance his agent, Darren Ferris, leaked this to Dreger once he was fully healthy to get teams to talk to Botts about getting him on a team that will give him more ice time in a contract year. The optics are so poopty, but I get it.

That convo will likely never be known. No one's denied anything, though. I'm certain he asked for a trade, there's no doubt about it. But the context for the ask will likely remain unknown.

He leaked it when he was a fully healthy scratch. There's nothing coincidental about the timing

Maybe he is utilized less because Ralph doesn't like his game as much as Housley did? The team is doing better with him on the ice less. Like it was said over the weekend, by a BN writer, it's time to put on his big boy pants. My beliefs wholeheartedly.
- GilPerreault11

He's a finisher, not a playmaker, kinda like Okposo was back in the day.
He needs a set-up man and he can finish.

I mean with all those saucy layups that Larry provides, Okposso should have 11 goals.

Here's the beauty, get a decent playmaking 2C, watch Jeff pot 35 and the 2c gets 35A's.
Get a competent RW and wow, a 2nd line you can play for 18 minutes, not 14.

Oh, and get Skins off of the PP and reallocate the minutes to 5v5 where he has been a top 10 scorer over past 5 years.

You're absolutely right. Just saying, the trade request and the scratch aren't necessarily related. Though they could be. But maybe not. But maybe.

im sure if botts had someone willing to give him a 6th straight up for him he would do it for the cap relief so he can look at upgrades up front

Ferris may have been a little preoccupied looking at his client list.

The first time he ever got scratched in his career and the timing is just coincidentally that night?

Everyone said they were stunned
