No worries man

I hadn't quite thought of Bobrovskiy either. I don't really see it, then again, I'm no goalie expert when it comes to the technicals.

I leave that to our resident windowlicker, Max.

I'd move Barrie - problem is what do you get back - don't want Marcipan back there again EVER, I would much rather move Johnsson over Kapanen - not as skilled, not as fast and lousy production playing with two pretty decent players. Still have no idea why Leafs refuse to put Mikheyev on the Matthews line.
- winsix

I think we need Johnsson more than Kap, we're not as strong at LW..

I saw this one twitter;

Barrie and Kap for Pietrangelo, (no contract extension)

He’s been great.

If he keeps it up, he’s a perfect cheap number 4 guy that the leafs can sign to 2-2.5 million for the next 3 years.

(frank) Dubas, I hate how he keeps finding these free wallets. Mikheyev, Moore, Holl.

Bring back Burke so he can (frank) up 1st round picks.

- Santo_44

Babcock made sure Mikheyev joined the Leafs - that's not Dubas at all.
Holl and Moore both joined the Leafs with Lou as a GM - if you can show that it was particularly Dubas that made the call to get them to the Leafs, that's ok - but I haven't seen that anywhere..

I think Johnnsons pretty good, hasn’t had the best start but some nights his little 1 touch passes give that line most of their chances.

He works for the owners and owners overwelmingly don't want the Olympics. It realy does disrupt the season.
- RogerRoeper

Omg....once every 4 years
They get 5 day disruption every year with the foolish all star game.

That’s true. He’s cheap.

But his parents also passed recently, they for sure had a couple mil, hence the Muskoka Is..

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Inheritance money

When I was 20 a friend of mine received a couple million from his uncle passing.

I was pretty (frank)ing jealous at the time, then my best friend growing up passed away from a working accident. I learned really quick what is actually important in life..living.

If a trade had to be made, I'd look at moving Kapanen and Barrie first.

I like Kap, but he's not a fit for our top 6 as we have Marner and Nylander.

- PatC80

I dont think we have a right winger that can fill out his spot unless a RW is coming back in the deal. Engvall stepping up and Moore on 4th line makes a guy Johnsson more expendable imo. We also have Sandin ready to step in the LD position. There's so much that can be done. Dudas just needs to get creative.

Mikheyev is a right handed shot playing on the left side, we have options

Some atrocious penalties this year and he's scored 6 goals and 16 points with significant top line ice time. Mikheyev has 18 points and is leading the team in primary assists (5X5) playing less, with lesser players. If you ask me, Johnsson can be traded, but he's starting to play like a very decent, but not great 7th round pick.

Can we pick up Kovalchuk now that the Kings put him on unconditional waivers?

Max, what do you think?

Still early, had a couple questionable pims.

I like our team, I’d only trade some of them for a top pair D

I’d rather ride Hutch then give up a good player for a backup

Play Hutch vs Wings / Sens etc

I couldn't see that. Basically the Blues - who have designs upon repeating I would imagine - would weaken themselves at the D position to gain a top-9 speedster?

The only way the Leafs can really end up trading Barrie is if the wheels fall off and come into late January they are not even a bubble team. His $2.75m is just not replaceable with an equivalent asset if we're looking to make the playoffs; otherwise he'll be sold off along with Muzzin at the TDL for a couple of 1st round picks.

I think, if you really look at it, most of the defensemen we would want to replace Barrie are probably not someone that the team trading for Barrie would want to Part with. It means that it's a good defenseman who's under $6m. That's an asset you want to keep unless you're out of the playoff picture too, and not going to be able to afford to resign the asset. Is the acquisition of a top-9 speedster really the piece that makes you make that trade?

Hmm

He can't transition from playing RW to LW...D should be easy
