Even the Rangers.

I see them as a bottom 10 team in the NHL...if they snuck in could they win a round? Yup.

In the NBA you just don’t see it.

Was hoping for a top5 pick, but Panarin got them going...

I don’t necessarily agree.

Right now it’s hard to trade him...but come late January trades are easier to make. Teams give up and are willing to take on cap.

Just because a trade is difficult doesn’t make it impossible. We heard the Leafs couldn’t deal Marleau or Z and they were traded within a month of the finals.

What exactly could you get for Barrie coming off his worst year ever going into free agency? Another expiring contract or a 2nd round pick if you're lucky? Not a good return for Kadri at the end of the day. He could still produce and turn it around, at this point, doesn't look like a strong probability.

I think he’d be pretty attractive, given his salary.

There are also other players who have talent and don’t fit very well where they play.

Lots of deals to be had out there.

You could probably find a dance partner with a team that has playoff hopes, but a bottom of the barrel PP. That's where I'd start my search if I were looking to move him.

I think you only move him if you are able to move Ceci.

Because you aren’t finding a suitable replacement for 2.5 million.

I have a cousin, who’s highly educated (UCC/UofT/McGill) but he lives as an unemployed nomad raising his babies with his doctor wife. Currently in NZ, will be back to their Muskoka Island for the summer. They live in Rossland BC so he can ski all winter.

I don’t know how he gets to do what he does. I slave away all (frank)ing day and I’m happy if all my bills get paid.

I wouldn't say they fall in the same category as Hasek and Thomas, but I don't think what I (or Adam) were trying to make that point. I think that all of the aforementioned goalies had a very unique style that existed in a time, when goalies were on aggregate more technically sound. Not necessarily that Brodeur, Quick, etc are as acrobatic as Hasek and Thomas. Just saying they were a bit different in an era, when goalies have become more or less the same. Obviously, some are better than others, but they all play the same style.
- RickJames77

I should have backread. I apologize for that. In terms of current goalies with a bit more unorthodox style, Bobrovsky might fit in, but not a lot of other effective goalies really come to mind.

Well, I’m sure his doctor wife makes a lot of money

But you are right, still makes you wonder A dual income of two good jobs can get you a doctor salary.

Honestly sometimes it’s just the way people live there lives. You’d be surprised how much money people save by not caring to have nice things.

No worries man

I hadn't quite thought of Bobrovskiy either. I don't really see it, then again, I'm no goalie expert when it comes to the technicals.

I leave that to our resident expert, Max.

Johnsson, Muzzin, Brocco hell even Kerfoot(as much as I like him) all good trade pieces. Blues, BJs, Oilers all seem like good trade partners.

Did someone mention that the Red Wings have a -60 goal differential after 35 games?

If a trade had to be made, I'd look at moving Kapanen and Barrie first.

I like Kap, but he's not a fit for our top 6 as we have Marner and Nylander.

That’s true. He’s cheap.

But his parents also passed recently, they for sure had a couple mil, hence the Muskoka Is..

I'd move Barrie - problem is what do you get back - don't want Marcipan back there again EVER, I would much rather move Johnsson over Kapanen - not as skilled, not as fast and lousy production playing with two pretty decent players. Still have no idea why Leafs refuse to put Mikheyev on the Matthews line.

Can we pick up Kovalchuk now that the Kings put him on unconditional waivers?

Max, what do you think?
