There was a team where Gretzky, Sakic, Lindros and Yzerman were the 4 centremen...

Stamkos Stone Couture

This is the group of fwds we’re being denied..

Couturier makes that team over Scheifele, Huberdeau, Seguin for sure.

Maybe.

I didn’t put much effort into it.

I did a whole 8 country breakdown awhile back.

It was actually pretty easy to pick the teams.

I don’t think I would have graduated if it was like that back in the day.

That and we probably wouldn’t have been claiming to be feminists while we watched women being exploited for our own personal pleasure.

Such an entertaining goalie to watch. I'm glad I got to see him, because I don't think they'll ever be someone quite like him again. Part of that is just how the position has been altered over time.

Ya. The weirdly unique styles like Brodeur, Hasek, Thomas...I'd even add Quick to that list etc. are pretty much being phased out from a young age these days.

It's doable.

BUF, NYR, DET, CAR before Christmas and then a back to back with NJ and NYR.

I think they win 5 of the 6 before the year end.

- PatC80

It's doable. You expect - or least hope for - wins over Detroit and Jersey. Carolina is probably the hardest in the bunch . . . although. Since November 20, when Keefe took over, the Leafs are 7-4 (or .636). This puts them 10th in Pts percentage - behind Washington, Calgary, Colorado, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, Dallas, Boston - and the Rangers. Carolina is 7-4-1, Buffalo is 6-3-4.

In other words, despite Jersey and Detroit (3-8-1 & 2-10-0), the opposition is also playing well.

But if they want to climb back in, they are going to have to beat the teams they were projected to be better than at the start of the year.

I’m starting to wonder if Bettman is purposely suspending any World Cup/Olympics because he’s trying to diminish Canada’s hockey reputation, or lower it to below the USA..

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ll probably never see a Crosby/McDavid team. That team would win, it would go down as a historic team in hockey history. I think he’s trying to minimize those moments for us.

He works for the owners and owners overwelmingly don't want the Olympics. It realy does disrupt the season.

Gotta love this NHL set-up Leafs will have their worst season in the past 4 years and will avoid Boston and face by far their weakest opponent.
