This is a case where Sully is not a good coach. You don't put an elite defenseman on his off-side. You just don't do it.

Schultz gets PP time so if he plays 3rd pairing it's not that big of a deal. He could always switch and put him on the 2nd pairing when they need more offense and put Marino on the 2nd pairing when they need more defense. Not a fan of changing partners but it would be temporary until Dumo is back. What he is doing now is screwing up two good defensemen just so he can have a bad defender (Schultz) in the second pairing.

I think Sully's a good coach, but I can't understand why he played an LD out of position while having a healthy Ruhwedel last season. It was blatantly obvious none of those LD were capable of playing their off side last season. We watched JJ and Rikki butcher things on a nightly basis. This season it's the opposite problem and Ruhwedel is playing over Rikki while Letang is butchering things at LD. I honestly don't get it.
