No. But trading Murray is a terrible idea.
- Feds91Stammer

Yup. I don't understand the rush from everyone to move Murray. I don't care what happens, Murray will have value after the season if the Pens do indeed decide to move him. He's still a young goalie with two cups under his belt. If anyone thinks the Pens can't still get a decent haul for his RFA rights they're quite mistaken.

Let's see what the Pens truly have in Jarry after a larger sample size (everyone's favorite buzz phrase).

I think I read he does, but he'd prefer to stay in the NHL if possible.
- Tojo.

Yeah...after I posted that I thought to myself it totally makes sense that there'd be at least one team interested in him over there hahah

Kovy would be a perfect pickup for $1m this year. Get him signed now and you have a few months of hockey to get him up to speed and determine if he adds any value or if you need to keep looking at the deadline.

He is going to be motivated and could provide the Pens with a great weapon for the PP. Put him out there with Malkin and Rust or Hornquist and it might be a perfect fit.

- MacPatty

Yea I'd take him for 1M he could help the PP out tremendously and that's good enough for me. I think he'd be fine at ES too

He recently missed two games due injury, doesn't score and is a defensive black hole (-35 in just 31 games, could be a record for forwards in salary cap area).

Cool story bro.

I could see him upping the effort with change of scenery on a team playing really motivated that has a chance this year. Also, Geno is there. No way he's going slacking with Geno in Machino mode.

And if he doesnt? send him to AHL

Can Kovy still keep up with Geno? this is an honest question. I havent watched him at all this season.

If the answer is maybe, then go get this guy on the cheap if possible. He could be flanking Geno. This could be what we wanted, a good winger for Geno. If it doesnt work out then you havent lost any assets or used up much cap.

No, really not Kovy... you know what happened with NJ, in KHL, now LA... this guy "is not a team player".

Well ...in NJ he was dynamite and they came 2 wins short of the cup with him blazing a trail there...then he wanted to go back to Russia for family reasons I believe.

In LA, from what Ive read, he handled the scratches and what not as a total pro.

EDIT: yes..it was for family reasons and he had let Lou know the season before this was his intention.

I was just scenarizing that this guy is a walking issue, and you know how long that cup run is already ago, how old he is now and about his performance in LA. Hell, i would prefer to sign Jagr over him.

Kovalchuk for no assets on a bet min is kind of a no brainer. If nothing else he’d be a huge upgrade on our PP for the half wall that Phil vacated. Give him the Vanek treatment of 4th line top PP if he truly is cooked at even strength.

I think you're applying the lazy Russian narrative to him without much supporting evidence...

He was known to frequent many fast food fried chicken places when he was in ATL.

Why would he take a $1mm deal to play in Pitt when he could go to Russia for millions. Hes done in the NHL unless a team pays him.

And he (frank)ing killed it in ATL so what's your point? Phil (frank)ing loved hot dogs and he killed it. Lemieux smoked (frank)ing cigarettes for (frank)s sake. So they should have traded his ass?!
