100% agree Cpt.

The first place team must be real lucky I guess?

No remember the caps were the best team of all time during their presidents trophy seasons, way better than the pens teams that won it all

Yes you are right, I really follow the big club, I'm not much into the minors of hockey...when that trade went down I remember Galchenyuk going, I forgot prospects were involved
- Gambi99

Yeah, I think he was the key piece in that trade. I don't think the Pens even wanted Galch but kind of had to take him for salary purposes and Arizona didn't want to give up anyone else.

Well, you've got to feel good with the master trader Shero at the helm!

Why does Galch get such a bad rap? I liked him a lot coming out of Sarnia and he played well for the Habs and I thought for the Yotes also. I'm not sure if people expect him to score 30 every year but he's probably more or a 20 -25 goal scorer if he stays healthy. I would trade Gusev+ for him right now but maybe that's why I'm not a GM

In a league where there's a salary cap, Hall doesn't really need to test the market to know what he'll get. He's not 22 so he's not getting Mitch Marner money, and so if someone is going to offer him anywhere close to that it makes sense to sign a contract today. The fact that they held him out and a trade still hasn't happened suggest teams are at least trying to sign him before making a big payment.

I wouldn't be surprised if he signs somewhere. Then again, it's no secret he wants didn't want to leave Edmonton and I can see that being a possibility.

Tanner, explain to me how Panarin can get 11.6M from the Rangers but Hall can't get 10.89M to match Marner in free agency?
Team bidding against one another can elevate the price. It's not about having a ball park figure of what he thinks he can get.

He was just a bad fit on the Pens because most of his value is on the PP and he occupies a spot that's already taken on the Pens. As a winger, he tends to drift centrally, maybe hearkening back to his days of playing center. On most teams this isn't such a huge issue, but when the centers are Crosby and Malkin, then it's a problem. He also doesn't play coach Sullivan's brand of defensive hockey. Supposedly he hasn't been able to execute his responsibility on the forecheck and backcheck.

I think a team who is looking for a PP boost for the spot Galch occupies will be rewarded. The other aspects of his game are pretty meh. I think this might explain why he has bounced around so much.

I just dont think a player who has the opportunity to sign anywhere in the league, with a girlfriend like his, is ever going to choose to sign long term in Edmonton

if you think a woman like that wants to live in freezing cold Edmonton the next 7 years you're outta ya mind

Agreed. Who do you think is a better fit for us Hall or Pageau?

Probs Pageau, Great on both sides of the puck and fills a center spot we need.
Brassard has been much more effective on the wing.
That said if Hall is what we get he would certainly address that pure goal scorer we need as well.
Gotta think if we are still lucky towards the trade deadline Lou will acquire some sort of offensive help.

I think Lameriello has to look into getting rid of Trotz save the team some money and invest it into some players. I’ll also think he takes up too much space on the bench. Coaches don’t matter anyway.
