I miss when True Grit told us a good 20 game segment last January showed that the Hawks had turned the corner, and were playing at 106 point season pace.

I really miss True Grit telling us that JC was a young dynamic coach, perfect for the new NHL, in the mold of John Cooper.

Don't lie. No one misses that guy.

He also thinks Special K is good.

Living Rent Free.

The first item was a fact at the time. In case you have not learned one of the irrefutable facts of life is that past performance does not guarantee future results. Contrary to what many may believe, I do not really have direct access to the guys etc... like you, I make my commentary based upon what I see from a distance.

Secondly, I never compared JC to JC. Maybe your printed the post for your bulletin board, if so, please share and I will own it.

While it is fun to blame me for the fact that the hawks blue line entering this season is arguably the worst in the NHL, and now definitely is, help me understand how any coach would net any more results then the one we have? You can not, its unproveable either way.

The hawks getting hemmed in their own end and giving up chances has less to do with style, man to man or zone, which 90% of fans can not tell the difference, but I digress, it has more to do with having barely 1 guy, Duncan Keith, with the ability to win a foot race. In zone its worse. Watch the good teams, they have guys that can skate and move which allows them to win pucks. For goodness sake, for he first time since he was 9 years old, Calvin dehaan, God bless him, is hailed as a number 1 defensemen. He is Brent Sopel, Nick Boynton, not even Michael Rosival....

Debrincat and Strome spent the off season shaking salt and pepper on each other and have been inconsistent and bad with puck management, let alone production

Whats worse, is that they are so bad now, no top flight college free agent is going to sign up for a rebuild.

While I am always an optimist, clearly, as Paul said last year, its time to fleece the team and build for a future. The cupboards are bare. For a long time, people compared the Hawks to the Wings, well Lidstrom = Hossa - once they left, a quick decent to the depths of the league has occurred. It is scary to think the Hawks likely have 2 or 3 more seasons of bottoming out. Easy to see why Datsuk and Zetterberg headed off to pasture a little before their time

I would now expect a change of GM and even coach at some point. I am trading anything that can bring back a handful of young players, beginning with the blue line. Crawford for something, Keith if healthy, buy out Seabrook, its embarrasing. Toews and Kane? Any takers, can you get get back a handful of bonafide prospects, established young player?

But just to be clear, I still categorically refute your assertion that somehow JC is the problem.

Man I just wish I was as smart as you. Gosh, just one day to see and understand the world as you do. How effing enlightening that would be. All the insight...let me paraphrase....the sky is falling....

By the way Douch, you would be surprised how many folks root me on and encourage me to come here to break up the ground hog day - circle jerk that sadly the board becomes most days.

But by all means, this is your world big shooter...

If the Hawks win tonight, will they be on 164 point pace?

Scottak,

Do you not see any of the irony that I have not posted in a week or so, and yet, in your personal frustration, which I share by the way, with where the team is, that somehow, I come to mind?

I mean, I am flattered by the attention, and enjoy trading barbs...but really...follow the pages of dialogue and just think about the irony....do you believe somehow, if I agreed with you, that something would click with the team and they would be off to the races?

That somehow SB would monitor this and say...looks like with lost TG...time to pull the plug on JC?

Buddy relax and enjoy the game. We were spoiled here for a while...what we are experiencing is a revert to the mean....

technically yes, if you start the clock with tonights game. If they were to win 82 straight games, that would be 164 point pace....

Dude, you’re wrong so often it’s laughable. Tell us again how JC is a good coach and Gustafsson is not a problem?

Well exactly. Some refuse to admit it but since the 80's even teams prior to the salary cap era have had a hard time sustaining success beyond the decade they reigned.

The Wings come to mind...maybe the Pens.

i posted about this earlier: Isles of the early 80 and oilers of the mid - late 80's have won nothing...how about the habs of the 70's..2 cups since then and no conference championships since 92-93...

this hawk drought could be another long and painful one...remember and enjoy what was

Nice outlet by Beaudin on the Kurashev goal
- LAHawk

Rockford won, 5-2, at Toronto AHL of course

Update and quick points I noticed:

Kurasaev one of the stars of game. Perhaps he is on a line with Queeneville. The former first round pick, Queeneville, is a spare part toiling perhaps without serious recall consideration. But he has been scoring regularly last few games. And Wedin has been getting points too.

Carlsson obviously must be out injured. The Rockford Icehogs site doesn"t even report such earlier in the week. That is a sign of a minor league poor quality website.

In the game Entwhistle was stopped on a penalty shot. Laakinen in net. For Toronto Holl must still be up in NHL .Lilejgren, a top dman prospect, has landed in AHL.
