Taking his time wouldn't play well on this board. He's got three weeks grace period.
- mohel

Hey Mo! We gonna give Sikura 10-15 games straight and finally put this issue to bed? Can't debate his hockey IQ, in any event. I say give him 10 minimum. Others will fervently disagree. What say ye?

Stan definitely should be gone before Colliton, he brought him on board and signed to multi year contract without any proof he could successfully coach in NHL, or successful stint at least as assistant coach somewhere.
Keep Colliton for this season, ship Lehner out, since Detroit win a few games maybe we will get last place and decent chance at Lafreneire, then new GM can start rebuild.

The other day was watching Buffaly play Oilers, and Jokarju was trusted to do PK against McDavid and Drai duo. Oilers did not score and Buffalo did not give big chances on that PK. Another trade that hurts. Rebuild, trades and drafting should start with new GM.

- vshun

I don't agree with this. Why get rid of the GM and keep the coach that GM brought in. There are only 2 things to do, keep them both and continue with the "plan" in place, or get rid of both and start fresh. But getting rid of 1 and not the other just doesn't make sense.

I agree with that. A new GM will want to bring in his own coach anyway.

The problem I see, is that the players weren't playing hard the last few years with Q. They would coast long stretches of games thinking that they could turn it on and win in the end. They just aren't good enough to do that anymore and I really don't think they have it in them to grind through an 82 game schedule.

The core wants to play important late round playoff games. They just don't have the drive/skill to get to those games.

I was selling my 311 Row 8 for $125-$150 a seat back then easily. Had to play favorites with friends because so many wanted tickets...

I agree with this approach my only question is the timing, if we’re going to be sellers at the TDL, I don’t want Bowman involved with that! I’d like to see what Colliton would do if he is unshackled from Bowman!

I was thinking that new and supposedly competent GM can take a couple of months to figure out what head coach to bring and wait for the right coach to be available, while the team is tanking with Colliton.
Maybe better options than Deboer will become available, such as Tort and Lavi. I imagine Tort will have a blast with this core if rumours of core resistance to hard work during practice, dating as far back to 2014, are true.

Makes sense to me. Those of us unhappy overall with his track record of trades should wish he stops messing around and making things worse without obvious strategy in mind.

Not just him. They should do that with several Rockford guys, imo. Why not?

The Hawk management simply doesn't want to confuse the young Boqvist and Dach with different coaching systems then what they're being taught at the NHL level.

It may stunt their development.

- Rota's Rooter

Going to WJC certainly helped Jokiharju. His team won WJC, then he got traded to what appears to be a playoff team. Plus, he’s taking a regular shift every night.

Sounds pretty good to me.

Agree with everything 100%.

With the Hawk all about being old school, any purge should happen on Christmas eve via a pink slip under respective doors.

Don’t even think about it Stan!

Just a day after requesting a trade, the Vancouver Canucks announced they have placed forward Sven Baertschi on waivers. This will be the second time this season the 27-year-old has been put on the waiver wire.

Why not? He’s be an upgrade over half the forwards on the current roster.

why moving lehner has anything to do with a coaching/Gm change is confusing..

he is young and shown himself to be high end netminder...i think the hawks will be in need for one of those in the coming years...I am big fan of crow but its unlikely he stays here unless he accepts a short term lower $$ deal...

There was an earlier report that former San Jose Sharks coach Peter DeBoer was going to take some time away from coaching but Friedman reports that, depending on the situation, DeBoer will listen to opportunities and may return to coach this season.

the wild arrive with 10-1-4 record their last 15 games...a team that was expected to "fight" for the bottom of the division with the hawks...

on this date last year: Blues were 12-14-4

and the hawks are 12-15-6 Hawks....stay optimistic

I'd agree that if their is a shakeup in season it will be Stan getting axed first , not because JC deserves a chance but Chicago could use the off season to find a solid head coach and have a clean slate.

JC deserves a one way ticket back to Mora.
