They were risky for sure. Personally didn't like the Maatta move. He is too slow for this group.

I would have preferred none of those moves and just play the year with smucks.

OR try and find other players to spenD 12 million on.Which I'm sure Stan did . This may have been his only options who knows. Now that they are injured it's easy for me to second guess the moves.

What does everyone think of 27 game?? He has dynamic O skills but just seems playing very conservative timid? Thoughts?

Montreal loses at home to the lowly Wings. Maybe Bergevin desperate to make a move for Gus or Maata as rumored earlier in the week.

Get it done Stan.

Or not spend the cap space at all. No reason to be close to the cap ceiling with a mediocre team.

The de Haan move would have been enough. Especially since they got him for nothing.

A holiday deal. Both for a 2nd and a 3rd.

Too much?

He’s blocked two shots - otherwise, an empty box-score line in only 8:29.

I’m guessing he’s joining his World Junior team tomorrow.

Dach with 9:05, including a minute on the PP.

Bill Masterton, the only payer to die during an NHL game? That was 1968.

Bill Masterton. North Stars. 1968. A whole bunch of players donned helmets after he died.

I assume they wouldn’t have gone after Maatta if they knew they were getting deHaan.

We (ok, I in particular) criticism Stan for waiting too long - this time he didn’t.

Bill Masterton is a guy to remember. For those of you not around in 1968.

Masterton suffered a severe internal brain injury during the first period of Minnesota's January 13, 1968, game against the Oakland Seals at the Met Center.[19] He carried the puck up the ice at full speed, passing it off as two Seals defenders, Larry Cahan and Ron Harris, converged on him. Masterton was knocked backward in the resulting collision and landed on his head. Like most players of his era, he was not wearing a helmet.[11] Referee Wally Harris compared the hit to an explosion, adding "he was checked hard, but I'm sure it wasn't a dirty play."[11] The force of the impact caused Masterton to bleed from his nose, ears and mouth.[3] The impact of the hit caused him to lose consciousness before he hit the ice; according to some accounts, he briefly came to and muttered, "Never again, never again" before passing back out.[15] He received treatment on the ice and in the dressing room before being rushed to Fairview-Southdale Hospital.[3]
