Nah Rielly is a keeper.

Just have to find someone to play with him.

Rielly is the softest player in his own end. gets beat like a filthy carpet all the time

reading the replies I have no clue

it means something different for each fan.

Kap just skates fast and doesnt mesh well with the linemates.

That's probably part of why the Leafs are known throuhout hockey for being a soft team, that lacks "grit", "heart", "desire" a "hate to lose attitude" etc.

There's no way to calculate or report this via numbers. Dubas seems to (imo), downgrade the importance of something that cannot be calculated.

I feel like some on here would trade a Lambo for a nice crisp 2013 Honda civic with some good old reliable snow tires. Just a straight up trade.

But yeah, it seems like Kapanen has to drive a line to be a big threat.

I think that is why he has so much interest. most teams in the league can plug him in at 1 or 2RW and the first PP unit. He'd probably thrive.

Im fine with him sticking as our 3RW

But if the right offer comes along why not?

I don't really know how to measure grittiness...

Hard on pucks? I don't know I'd say Hyman. Johnnson and Kap are both pretty good along the boards.

Muzzin? He hits a lot. I think I'd rather have Holl battling for pucks though...

- Santo_44

When Kap hits a guy he hits the guy with some force...that’s grit...bumping a guy cause he was in your way is not. JMO

Hyman hits but mostly throws his body into the boards to cut the guy off and battle for the puck, but I guess he’s right there with Kap.

If you don't beat the carpet, it's pretty gritty.

I'd much rather have this than a guy who hits with force.

You can’t sleep through the games and then look at the stats in the morning and find grit...sorry

That’s fine, if I had to cut 1 of the 2...it would probably be Hyman not because of grit though

if a player is able to read a play and in the neatral zone create a turnover that leads to a chance thats the same as hitting a player with force and turning the puck over that leads to a chance.

the thing is, one you dont notice happening as much and its not as pronounced. the other you stand up and cheer and it leaves a happy safe feeling.

hockey is complicated

In the moment maybe, but hard body checks take their toll over the course of a game/series. They can intimidate to make the opposition make other mistakes because of the fear of the hard hit.

I was just responding to “who’s grittier” not sure what your talking about now?
Tom Wilson’s gritty but I’d take McDavid before him.

Muzzin has been laying some bombs lately.

Just a coincidence he is playing his worst hockey as a Leaf.

Right? Right?

He always throws bombs and his Corsi is 57% since Keefe took over.
