I didn’t see the game but I’m encouraged by the responses even in a loss. Their effort has never come into question this year - Just5
True, Even with 5 guys out, they can play a good team-defensive game to stay close in games until the cavalry arrives |

How stewie look? Does the loss get pinned on him? - daryl stanley
No, it is on a lack of finishing chances. Most of the grade A opportunities came from the Coots and Hayes lines. Passing not connecting or swing and a miss on the shot or just off.

He had an easy chance at a goal but couldn't elevate the puck
Other than that he was fine. Biggest issues were the Hayes line and Hagg |

I thought he played his best game as a flyer as limited as thats been. Actually seemed like he had some speed to his game. Like someone said he had a chance to get a goal but couldnt get it up. Maybe some pregame viagra next time |

It was mostly Kase and Vorobyev playing really well in limited minutes.
Kase was on his puck-hunting horse and Vorobyev looked really confident with the puck. They dominated possession. |

The underwhelming version of Hägg returned, and it showed on the scoresheet; he was on the ice for two Avalanche goals. In both cases, he deserved some blame. On Calvert’s goal, Hägg was late in challenging him after the initial shot by Nichushkin rang off the post. On Rantanen’s first goal, Hägg chose to back into his own zone rather than directly challenge J.T. Compher, which allowed the Avs winger to simply wait for Landeskog and Rantanen to catch up to him on the rush, hitting the Flyers’ zone with speed and control of the puck. And those weren’t Hägg’s only mistakes — just his most memorable. He had a rough night. |

Bullpoop
On the first goal, hes covering two guys in front. The puck went to a spot where the AV playerer could easily reach it. Might as well have blamed Hart for not being able to recover and seal off the post due tp the fact that he had a much shorter distance to cover
Its ridiculous |

Hart didn't know where the puck bounced. |

Bill is being a little overly kind on the 2nd goal. Hayes hits our own blue line coming back a full 3 strides before Rantanen... and literally doesnt take another stride. He coasts the rest of the way...allowing Rantanen to fly by him and score. JVR was invisible last night. And for the great effort Jake gave... how many times is he going to miss the net completely and watch the puck wrap around the boards on it's way back to center??? Most of the team looked pretty good last night... but we need these 3 high priced players to be better. Much better. |

Well if it's posted on the athletic, it must be gospel and fact. I don't find a lot of fault on either goal towards Haag. On the first goal, he has position at the net. The puck is shot right at him so he goes to his knees in an attempt to block the shot. It's a perfect bounce right to the Av player. It's a split second reaction there and no chance for him to recover on the rebound. On the other goal, he doesn't do anything wrong. It's a two on two there and he played it fine. Sanheim on the other hand lost his horizontal gap and Hayes did a piss poor job and effort on the back check on the player going to the net. |

Not a bad effort last night at all. Just lacked finish. Understandable with two of your top forwards out.

To the earlier poster(s) bashing Jake - nobody here is going to deny that his effort has been inconsistent throughout his Flyers career.
But to think he hasn't been a major catalyst in the last few weeks (since AV called him and G (and others) out for their effort), is just plain wrong.
Last night especially, Jake was skating harder and more alert away from the puck than most of our team.
What's more, he's tied with G for 3rd on the team in points this season.
Defending Jake rant over. |

We looked like we had a legitimate top line last night with three hungry players. I don’t see how you don’t keep them together. |

Funny, we always seem to need a defenseman to be our boogeyman. Sometimes its warranted, sometimes not so much. Haag is just a guy. Not superstar material but a servicable 10-12 minute 3rd pair or depth player. He really hasn't lost us games. Last night he filled in for Myers who looks like a 1st or 2nd pairing guy. We held the Avs to 3 goals, and pressured them the entire 2nd period. If We had one goal then, I think we would have won the game. Hart should have has a better outcome 'cause he played his butt off. It's a growing process. In recent years they would have folded like a cheap suit. This weekend we hopefully will be a little healthier, and it'll be a real test to have a back to back on the road. |

I think hungry is the perfect word for that line.
I'm a big fan of the Oskar-Coots-TK line, but for now I see no reason to not run G-Coots-Jake. |
