It's not my dream moves by any means but

- it's all trade targets that are said to be available
- the money works
-no high-end murrancy lost (no firsts)
- only things of value for us are a 2nd, 4th and Miller
- addresses forward needs
- mitts can go to Roch

Moves can be made. It remains to be seen if Botterill is willing to do something

- jcragcrumple

His doing something is going to be unloading his pending FA's at the TDL, and maybe a hockey trade.
All the prognosticators seem to think trades will be limited due to Cap and LTIR positions of more teams than normal.

While your trades work on the money side for the most part, do they work for the needs/desires of the GM?
i.e - AA, StevieY probably wants younger players/prospects and picks rather than a mid-career player for the rebuild.

That one specifically I can say I did because I've always seen McCabe in red wings sweater for some reason. Former team USA captain and a good young leader for a young red wings team in need of guidance

I'm sure the red wings fans here will disagree

Stick his a$$ on the dot and move mojo to wing. Didn’t you say gally is grumpy cause he wants to play center... fine, here ya go guy, here is a center position and a $9 million dollar winger. Go do something in a contract year you stiff. And if it cost us scandella and erod, so be it....

Correct, I’m playing Vesey over him any day
- lulags

Vesey shouldn't come out of the lineup at all.

Why would Detroit want to upgrade any of those pieces, they are playing so well

Then it’s not a bad buy low option if you aren’t using any big trade chips. I rather see a more established 2c. But I’ll try a Whinging gally ... give the lineup some needed flexibility. And hopefully it leaves botts the bigger assets to make a more established long term solution for the top 6.

And for the love of all that is the hockey gods, send mitts to Rochester!

He’s been playing really really well. If he keeps this up, I’d certainly want him back! His pressure on the pk has been mike Grier like. With the same finish. Very happy with his recent play.

I'm with you.
Going to lose those guys anyway, hell, give them Scandy and Sheary.
Besides, the stories of the parties would be great!

Who can't use 35 - 50 pts?

Gally at $4.9. Scandy at $4. Gotta keep the numbers close!

The seventh-overall pick in the 2019 draft has been amazing for WHL Lethbridge and cashed in on an early chance to impress at Canada's world junior camp with a spot centering the top line. And this kid is not slowing down.

Still don’t want to throw him into the 2c roll out of the gate next year. Find the vet 2c to hold down the fort for a year or two. Let Cozens play 3c for at least a year!

Looks and feels a lot different if he beats out Mitts, MoJo, Asplund, etc. for the job.

Hell, half the poster on the board can beat mitts out right now. He needs to be in Rochester last week.

Asplund is a 3c and progressing to that point. The team isn’t better with him at 2c.

Mojo is still 5 years removed from center. While filling in admirably the team is better with him on the wing. And he is a year older next year.

Expecting a jr player to step in and carry that load is insane!!!

Go. Find. A. Real. 2c!

In all honesty, Larsson should be the 3C, if they re-sign him

With the way he is playing. No argument here. Asplund at 4c then.... cozens on the wing for a year then.

So easy to say. Like it or not, it's most likely coming internally.

There are players on poopty teams that are probably available. It's up to Botterill to go and get one

Galchenyuk
N. Foligno
Athanasiou
Pageau

All those guys can play center or at least contribute to the middle 6. It's up to him to go get one

how much of a raise would you pay him and continue to be happy with him?
2.0
2.5
3
3.5

Personally I would keep him and Gus if I can have both at 2 or under

- hubie

Gus is irrelevant to me, Larsson I’d keep for under 2.25

Not any time soon. Yes, easy to say and easy to see for a year and a half that it’s a pretty big hole in the lineup. I don’t get paid botts money to figure it out. But botts better...
