Yes, but this was all under the argument that he'd play worse to lower his trade value, which is absurd. Not going hard to the net all the time? Sure I get it. But he still needs to keep his value up.

I didn't mean to imply that he's intentionally playing poorly. Sorry if it came across that way.

I don't know if you are being intentionally obtuse or something, but no player has any obligation to give a poop about their play other than it determines there worth. If Hall plays like he has I would be very weary that his knee 100% and giving him an 8 year deal. You are also under the assumption the team he gets traded to has room to resign him and isn't just making a deal for this years playoffs.

You guys are "arguing" here with Eric Lindros. Too many hits to the head

He’s going to UFA anyway. He will get the deal he’s looking for no matter how poorly he plays. He can very easily point to the team, his line-mates, and the overall dysfunction of NJ.

I don’t think he’s playing worse with the goal of lowering his trade value. I do think he checked out, and that is certainly a reasonable assumption given his play and comments.

I think he’s fully aware he’ll get his pick and his payday soon enough.

A team will be foolish to trade very much for him since he will really be a rental. His comments indicate as much, especially if you read between the lines. He wants control, he wants UFA.

Most GMs are smart enough to realize this, which is why the return for him will most likely be underwhelming considering most fan’s delusional expectations on a return.

In my opinion, there will most likely be a 1st involved, but the roster players given up for him will be “meh”.

You guys are overthinking it.

Hall isn’t pondering his play and how it affects the team he’s going to. He’s playing and producing if not exactly as nicely as typical.

Everyone knows our team blows and Halls production on this train wreck is actually impressive.

The return will be underwhelming to Devils fans buy probably pretty fair.

Remember when the season began we were wondering how long and how much Hall would sign with us? Good memories.

I remember thinking we wouldn’t suck ass anymore. Yet here we are.

I remember before that when I thought Ray Ray should go hard after Panarin so it didn’t really matter what Hall decided. It would have been great insurance although doubt we could have landed him. You never know.

Yes I realize if we did sign Panarin and Hall was agreeable to staying it would have been a difficult cap situation but I’m of the opinion you sign high end talent possible and deal with the ramifications later. If Pitt had managed Crosby, Malkin, Kessel and Letang it’s not impossible.

This will be our next coach.....

It's not the "former" Devil defenseman we are all thinking about taking over this team

Looks like we might have to compete for the coach we want next year with all the other teams that will also be looking for head coaches.

Im still pretty interested in Gronberg though.

Wont go to Devils but did take us & SJ to Stanley Cup Finals in first year as coach so he will certainly be a head coach again somewhere next year!

For a team to not even play hard... what can cause this? Bad early start? The Hall thing? No trust in your goalie?

We are playing worse than last year, which I didn't think was possible. Im cool with it, top pick hopefully and all that, but its still not healthy.

And he should be, he just wasn't the right coach for our rebuild. Relying on players like Pete Harrold while "developing" your young talent in the press box can tend to make a GM ornery.

SJ is pretty well screwed though going forward.

Thats a lot of money tied up for a long time in players in their 30's.

Just too bad because I think this season alone set the rebuild back a couple years again barring a miracle.

They are so (frank)ed. EK, Burns, the forwards you mentioned.... I think the GM thought they win a cup so it would be justified. I have no idea how they can wiggle through this.

Interestingly, he is listed as having worn #2 and not #28 for NJ.

See this great (but maybe inaccurate) list.

Any one catch the Chara vs Wilson bout ?

I would love to have a guy with that much passion and fire on our team.

Not sure what I would give up and players like him are usually worth more to their team then what their performance would normally dictate so I wouldnt even be able to fathom what it would take to pry him away ?

I know he is either loved or hated not to many are so so on him so I expect to get some fireworks for this lol.

Taylor Hall to the Caps for Wilson and their first this year and conditional first next if he resigns or do you guys think we would need way more then that in return ?

I really think the caps would take a hit in losing wilson he is a main dressing room guy and loved there so if Hall could resign I wouldnt be shocked if it threw off their chem for the 20/21 season maybe making that a nice pick.

It gives them another kick at the can this year before Holtby and co are up.

I think Wilson could do quite well with Jack Hughes....

Zack Kassian seems to do well with Mcdavid and we have played Simmer with hughes lots so I like the idea a lot and for what Wilson is you wont find a better skater in a power forward that actually is powerfull.

In Hindsight I'm glad Ty Smith didn't make the team so he didn't have to be part of this year's trainwreck. I'm sure he'll be here for next year's trainwreck though.
