Gus makes Campbell look like a shut down defender.

I truly would love to know what the hell he was thinking on how he played that 2 on 1 short handed play the other night. NO wonder Crawford almost went Belfour and destroyed his stick.....The guy was telegraphing pass and Gus couldn't even cover the other guy OR break up the pass......that may be the single most asinine play I have seen a Hawks player make in decades.

And yet....he'll come rolling out tonight and get exposed more. I bet he could finish at least -40, 1 year....I hope it happens. NOt for the Hawks but whoever is stupid enough to sign him this summer.

Yeah, Barroway was a bit out of his depth owning the team on his own, but the new guy is just fine and owns a Vegas hotel for (frank)s sake
- BINGO!

Bingo your correct. I couldn't think of that guys name but remembered he was in way over his head.

There are over 25 family members working in the Lake Forest office.

I was hoping he would have improved his defense this season while continuing his offensive production but I swear his defense has become worse. I really hope the Hawks let him go.
- paulr

I was in the same camp....his offensive upside last year helped mask his horrific defensive plays...….he needs to go ASAP, and if JC had a sack, he'd scratch him after Tuesday night.

IF Gus continues to do his Gus thing, Crawford and/or Lehner may go after him in the room.....

Toews was 27-28 when he started going down hill.

Your absolutely correct. I'd be curious to know the percentage of players whom where top 6 stars that at the age of 29 and under suddenly declined.

Good bring on the TANK. this team isn't gonna do anything meaningful this season. Sell whatever pieces we can for draft picks and finally rebuild.

I didn't mean for you to delete your post, I meant how fickle we fans can be.

is it not fair to call him out because he's taking up a huge amount of cap space, and his game is diminishing at an alarming rate? I mean it's ok for media to bash the hell out of Seabrook for his deal, and rightfully so, but why not Toews? Sure he had a bounce back year last year, but before that and like this year the arrow in production is pointing down.....and who on his line is better for skating with 19? You could say a young Saad before his banishment to Columbus, but I would counter with Hossa more so then Toews.

Toews is being paid ELITE money and is far away from being an elite player. yes he was instrumental in winning cups previously, but so were many others....

Im more concerned about the present and future.....and for what 19 is doing vs his cap hit.....if somebody called and return was fair.....happy trails.

Does anyone really think Panarin would still be here if that trade weren’t made?

Dietz deleted his LTIR tweet.....thanks....hoping its not season ending. He seems to be steady eddie back there, which is what this team desperately needs.

Nope...I think Bowman extended him at the right time to get a decent return for him knowing full well they had ZERO chance of resigning him.....not with other huge deals currently on the books.

Within reason but how many hands will be in the cookie jar once she passes? The bears have mainly been a dumpster fire since Lovie left outside of a fluke year...here or there.....I view them similar to when Dollar Bill was in control.....you just hope their is a Rocky in the McCaskey family who will make the right moves to get the Bears to be competitive for a long window......There is zero chance the Bears will sold when she passes.....

But it’s more about what roles they are playing than just the number employed. If aunt Betty is making all the travel arrangements, and uncle Joe is collecting coin from sky box owners, who cares? As long as they aren’t making football decisions.

Define "suddenly declined". Last year at age 30 he played all 82 games, had his career high in goals, assists and points playing 21 minutes per night (1:44min on PK), 56% faceoff %, 14.9 shooting %, and finished 15th in Selke voting.

but to your point George is very involved and while this isn't a bears board.....they gravely missed on Trubisky, they missed on kevin white, they missed on Leonard Floyd.....they have a LOT of 1st round pick busts that you can't miss on.....think back to all the crap the Hawks selected in round 1 that didn't enable them to be good.....

Sure pace has hit on 2nd and 3rd and 4th round picks but he also picked Adam Shaheen...….

I think the most successful owners hire the smartest people in their industries to run day to day and you as said owner are alerted but you delegate......I have zero evidence to back it up but I would venture to guess Wirtz delegates and that's why the Hawks have been so successful...…

Jerry Jones is the PRIME example of a how an owner SHOULD NOT function.....

If you watched a bit closer, with more attention, you would've noticed the beginnings of the slide during the 2nd period of the 4th game after he turned 26.

Starting in 2010-11

76 points, 57, 48, bump to 68, 66, 58,58,52, bump to 81, 18 currently....

So out of the last 9 years....he increased his previous year's point total....2 times.

I would call that a decline.

For sure, and Stan should have been able to sign him to a 8 year deal at the league minimum. But noooooooo, Stan didn't want to do that.
