It is one thing to be good and not with the cup, entirely different thing to be mediocre and consistently not make the playoffs.
- Mashadar

agreed.

Pretty sure there is. Trading him would mean sacrificing this season and likely others if they can't replace him properly though.
- BashCH

They are not winning with what they have any time soon. Also, not sure how the Habs would be sacrificing the season, given they are not making the playoffs anyways.

You could say, they's be better off with a chance at a much better pick.

while I wouldn't bet my house on it, they still have a legit shot at it.

His contract still has a few years left at 7+m. Habs would need to eat some salary if he goes to a contender. Could happen I guess.

I just don't want them to rush up kids who are not ready yet or overplay them. They have been doing that with Mete.

Petry could be on the trade block as well.

I guess there's also the question of his retirement year, where the Preds could be paying for the remainder of the contract.

And how long until we see Mete back in action?

(frank) you are braindead.

And there is a market for Weber. Likely a big one too.

- Mashadar

No you 're dumb as (frank). You can't read either. Not even against a rebuild, you dumb ass.

Bergevin won't throw the towel on this season, doesn't want to lose his job. If all of this is done it'll be by some other than him.

yeah, one point out of the playoffs with 51 games left, SELL....time to rebuild, that will go well with Geoff Molson.

The plan, and the sad thing is, limping into the playoffs just to say we made the playoffs is the target so MB can keep his job for another season.

That's the new goal.....just make the playoffs and we will magically become the St. Louis Blues.

Seems like it. If it were up to me I'd be all in for a full rebuild but upper management doesn't seem to see it that way.

I am not the idiot that suggested they would then need to replace Weber with Cousins....

The injury bug hit them hard.

Guys like Weber are not traded at the deadline but during summer time anyway.

The Habs need to clean house, hire a REAL President of Hockey Operations (not named Molson) and build a management team from scratch.

Until that happens, nothing will change.
