I don't think Pete cares if players are black (that's the term I use), white, or other. He just likes players who play hard and play for the team. Therefore, he is a racist. |

They are not good enough to win, and by the time they are, guys like Weber will be secondary players. So why keep him if we are just going to keep missing the playoffs anyways?
Build the prospect pool.
Go full rebuild, not depends on the b-level prospects we have and waiver wire picks ups and 4th line specialty players. |

Even more racist if you doubt that Weber can keep that pace all season long while playing 30 minutes a night. |

I guess they're trying to get the best of both worlds, developing interesting prospects while remaining competitive with reliable veterans.
I understand the "what's the point?" logic, but on the same token there are absolutely no guarantees of success if you clean house and rebuild from ground zero |

I get no guarantees.
But this team has been stuck in mediocrity for 25+ years, something needs to change. Habs need leadership with vision - from the top down.
*shrug*
But nothing is gonna change, so we might as well just accept mediocrity for another 25+ years I guess. |

And if you trade all of your vets, you pretty much have to rush up your kids to ice a team. Something Mashadar has been complaining about. |

That is not what I am advocating.
Trading Weber is not trading every single veteran on the team. Regardless, there are enough 4th line waiver-worthy veterans signed to the Habs to fill at least 3 lines without having to call anyone up. |

This answer might have become a cliché, but there are way more teams than in the habs' good ol' glory days, and more parity as well.
But I agree, it's been a while since 1993 now... |

So you would replace Weber by Cousins?
We don't know what's the market for him. We don't know if there is market a for him. |

Late here but that kid is insane and he's already built like an adult at 15. Him ending up in Pittsburgh would be the long game version of him ending up in Edmonton |

It is one thing to be good and not with the cup, entirely different thing to be mediocre and consistently not make the playoffs. |

Pretty sure there is. Trading him would mean sacrificing this season and likely others if they can't replace him properly though. |
