On the other hand, the Leaf fiasco is contending to be the worst possible kind of rebuild model. It lacked patience and failed to understand the need for balance including speed, skill, character and grit. The Panerin signing by the Rangers is nearly as bad as the long term nightmare of the Tavares signing by the Leafs. You need to allow kids to grow into leadership.

Engvall is too good for the 4th line. He reminds of Kapanen of a couple of years ago.

With Johnsson out, Keefe should try Engvall with Matthews-Nylander. If that works out, it would all but seal Johnson’s fate.

I'd like to see Engvall up with Matthews for a game or two as well.

The thing I'd be more concerned about is is how Moore looks very good against 4th line competition but absolutely overmatched against top 6 competition. If Engvall is in that boat as well, then he's not a fit.
