Monahan has scored more goals by a slight margin compared to MacKinnon but you look at totals compared to both and MacKinnon is far ahead and has played less games.

Regular Season Totals
MacKinnon 486 GP, G 174, A 275 Total: 449
Monahan 503 GP, G 181, A 207 Total 388

McKinnon is elite and Monahan is adequate, he can't make players better around him because he's not a true # 1 Centre.

All I'm saying is the Flames had 107 points under Peter's...he can't be that bad of a coach

that being said it wasn't working this season

Of course, Peters isn't a bad coach, but the effect a coach has is massively overrated. Not that a coach isn't important, but there are only 31 head coaching jobs. There are far more overqualified coaches than there are jobs. The difference between the best coach in the world and the 31st best coach is minimal. Whoever is good enough to get an NHL job is an amazing coach, unless the GM is a former player and worthless.

Congrats on the win streak, lads! It'd be nice if both Alberta teams could be 'going' in time for round 1 of the BoA but seems like the juice is running low up North.

Bad coaches can help teams have success for a single season. Good coaches are able to adapt and sustain that kind of success.

My take is that a coach isn't going to win you any games on his own, but he can sure help you lose one.

Not debating the fact that McKinnon isn't the better player. Just the fact that they've been in the league the same amount of time.
