Like maybe two second round picks and an nhl ready d man for a ā€œtop prospectā€ that still canā€™t crack an nhl lineup.... that kind of move. Lol

Grass isn't always greener.

I don't think Botts is some wizard, but it could be much, much worse

That's my point, even Scandella, then you bring up Pilut, and maybe he brings some offense to the backend.
- Buff36

Iā€™m fine with that. Itā€™s not overly exciting. And gally has had a rough stretch in PGH. But itā€™s a buy low type of move weā€™ve seen from jb.

Iā€™d even, maybe, consider giving scandella the wink-nod, hey letā€™s talk in the off season.... Iā€™d be fine with him on a short term deal as the 6... heā€™s been ok this year.

As a minimum asset move, Iā€™m ok to finally try and balance the roster. And it still leaves him some assets to make a bigger move.

"Problem is with the Pegula's, the grass is usually never greener"

I'm seeing a pattern involving "green " and "grass

That trade was clearly much much worse. Iā€™m still ok with botts. But heā€™s gotta get something done here. And maybe get mitts in Rochester for a month.... build the kids confidence back up. Let him 1c it up down there.... go be the man mitts.

cozens should have received a 9 game look to start the season

I agree with this, however being in Lethbridge and dominating the WJC is whatā€™s best for him long term.

Well if Krueger can whisperer in his ear maybe he wakes Galy up, the guy had over 40pts 5 years in a row

some players have the it factor, where they can fit in right away

I would have liked to see if he had it

he looks to be 3 times the prospect casey was, but perhaps it's me turning the page on casey

I worry about that top line defensively but Gally has shown he can put up big numbers before.

He scored 30 goals once, 19 goals in each of his last two seasons. On pace for 40 points again over a full season and heā€™s been in the dog house for a few weeks.

If it costs one of Bogo, McCabe, or Scandella (sell high on his renaissance due to Joker) I do it. Can even add Erod to balance out the money.

Fitting in, looking good.

I agree, cozens looked better than mitts.

Going back to junior never hurt anyone. With this organizationsā€™ track record of rushing development Iā€™m at ease with him leading the WHL in points and living out a dream playing for Canada in a few weeks.

Confidence is a huge factor and he is growing every day. I donā€™t think he has anything much to prove at the WHL level but this upcoming tournament and adding 10-15 pounds will only help him next year.

Basically flipping UFA contracts with the hope of a offensive upside.

He played 8 minutes last night. 10 points in 24 games is really good production though.

I think Cozens could have been an NHL winger this season and maybe given us 25-30 points but nothing wrong with going back to Junior and playing big minutes.

Yankees better add about 30 mill to that contract offer after what Strasburg signed for, and that's probably just a opening salvo

I donā€™t think there is much risk either. If it doesnā€™t work out donā€™t resign him.

Could also be done.

Regardless it gives us options.

Pilut should not be in Rochester and one of our vet d-men should be on the move pronto.

I can't imagine he'd do enough to warrant a decent enough contract, or even taking the gamble of giving him long term $$

It just seems like a wasted move.

Not good enough to be a long term 2C, is not a good winger, period.

I just don't get it

Low risk gamble. It might not be what we want but itā€™s better then our current situation.

Do you think it's gonna get to the 9yr 300 mill some people are saying now. Would be surprised if the Yankees would even do that.

Looks like Canada is thinking of pairing Byfield and Cozens together.

Oh why tease me like that.
