He had 15 PP points that year though which would be great if he was a righty, but he's not. 30 otherwise, negative though not bad possession numbers. Seems like an average middle six guy and we are plenty of those. Might be good if they move Bjugstad and want another center though. - Tojo.
Yeah I just don’t think there’s any top line wingers out there as rentals (cheaper to acquire) aside from Hall and Kreider. |

He was rumored to be on the block earlier in the year and not sure if he still is but I think the Penguins should pursue Hoffman. He would be a lot cheaper than Hall and would fit in nice with Malkin allowing Guentzel to slide back with Crosby when he comes back. |

Agree, at least not yet. NJ could burn it down further and move Palmeri a year early. If Chicago dropped out I'd wonder if they'd move Saad. But right now it's Hall and then hope Toffoli is better elsewhere (I think he would be). Even Kreider, Rangers are 4 back with a game in hand on Carolina so they might not even trade him. |

What's with everyone wanting kreider so bad? I catch a ton of rags games being from NJ, he just seems to coast around 90% of the time. He'll have some dominant play but it's hardly ever seen. Seriously just wondering... |

I might be remembering wrong, but I think Hoffman was only going to be available if they signed Panarin. |

If Hoffman is on the block, I’d Love to see him on the LW with Sid or Geno. Dude has a (frank)ing laser beam. |

He's definitely having a bad year. It's mostly just there aren't a lot of options so the few around are going to get talked about, and he's generally been a better player.
That's why I throw out just trying McCann and/or Kahun next Crosby or Malkin. They might be as good or better as what we can aquire and cost nothing. |

You'd have to probably include Marino and/or a top prospect and/or a handful of picks. Just saying, if you want to go all-in, they could be pried away. - jmatchett383
I'd be more comfortable trading forwards than D, especially young very promising looking D. |

I vote for a solid puck moving left D and trying out these 2 with sid. You don’t need to be elite to play with Sid. A compatible style of wingers and a defenceman who has controlled dzone exits will prob be more effective than throwing your whole barn at someone like Hall.

I agree that trying internal options is the way to go, for now at least. But the whole kreider thing isn't just this year, it's all the time. My best friend is a huge rags fan and can't wait until "they trade that bum". Just seems like hes a lazy dude on the ice |

At this point, Marino has to be almost untouchable right? He's already playing at top 4 level, has a year left on his ELC, is an in-house replacement for Schultz, and is exempt from the expansion draft. |

Sounds like Flyers fans who said the same about Coburn even though he was a solid (but unspectacular) top-4 D. I mean...you're talking about Rags fans. That's like talking to Flyers fans or the guy in Pittsburgh who wanted to fight me while I was peeing. |

hahah yes, you would have to think he's staying put...if they used him in a Hall package the back end would get crippled. |

I'm right there with you. He's definitely talented, but I rarely see him play a whole game. That's the last thing you want with this team. The Pens finally returned to a team that skates hard every shift (except ZAR) and people want to bring in a lazy player? Hard pass.
I'd like to see Kahun get a bump. He's got the kind of game that Sid can elevate. Tojo listed his lines when everybody is healthy....those look great. |

Toffoli, maybe Kreider though Rangers have climbed back into contention. AA in Detroit will be expensive.
Not alot yet until teams drop out. Even then, Hall might be the only top end guy moved. - Tojo.
I'd look into Craig Smith. Right shot, soon to be UFA having a slow start. Maybe a deal involving Galchenyuk +. |

Sid will obviously still get Letang because they are going to be matched up against the #1 line for the majority of the game. What help Geno doesn't get with his deployment partners, he gets in match ups. He has never been deprived.
I think Marino should be getting matched up with Geno as the 2nd pair RD when everyone is healthy though. His even strength numbers are fantastic. Would be a huge help to Geno Rust and whoever eventually gets that LW (I'm thinking Kahun) |

If Smith or Granlund we're moved in a change of scenery I'd be interested. I actually think Granlund is more likely because Smith has been there do long and largely been productive. |

If you do that Bjugstad, though Blueger's line gets 3rd line time anyways so it might be better use of McCann as a top 6 wing.
McCann-Crosby-Kahun
Guentzel-Malkin-Rust
Simon-Bjugstad-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev
Might not work best, but I'd like to experiment with a top six like that to see if we have internal options. - Tojo.
Jake Sid Bjugs
Khaun Malkin Rust
Simon McCann Horny
ZAR Bluegs Tanev
I have a weird feeling they try this out when healthy. I think they are clearly over the Galchenyuk experiment and would likely move on from him. I think they originally intended to use Bjugstad on the wing, but he just settle in at center last season. Now with McCann doing his thing at center, they could move Bjugstad to wing to test him out there. |

Pump the brakes. There should be no talk about acquiring Bertuzzi or Mantha. They are almost untouchable and PIT doesn’t have the assets to even get the conversation started. |

Two 1st rounders, Galchenyuk and JJ should be enough to get the deal done. |
