Is this jab necessary to the guy you and your group argued with all day yesterday?

wouldn't be fun to have this season ending scenario...

last game: hawks need 2 pts to get a playoff spot
hawks have 3 goal lead going into the 3rd
blow it...3-3 into a shoot out
lehner in goal...Now what???

- bogiedoc

what about this season ending scenario...

last game: hawks are in last place and 2 points put them in the second last spot
hawks have 3 goal lead going into the 3rd
blow it...3-3 into a shoot out
Crawford in goal...Now what??? Do you put in Lehner

Think the Hawks need precision passing in the neutral zone, in order to maintain possession. Saad today, simply isn't that man. Rarely hits the tape on sent passes, and bobbles and battles pucks sent to him with no one else in sight. High quality chances conversion rate? Nope, not quite there either. Will he tap in occasional shots, skate with ease, plant himself in the crease, and be a professional both on and off the ice? Lots of pro hockey guys like that around, who get paid less than 6 million per. Columbus needed him to be the old "Saadfather," knew he wasn't close to that, and removed him from their hair. Bowman should have known better. Not Saad's fault at the end of the day.

Fun drinking game, take a shot every time a Blackhawk player just throws the puck away. And I’m not talking about a missed pass, or a dump and chase. I mean literally just throws the puck into an open area, or directly to an opponent.

You’ll be drunk before 8 minutes of elapsed game time.

It’s especially galling after the Cup teams that refused to give up the puck.

That kind of happened in '12 I think? Needed to win last game, lost but so did Dallas?
- rpeters01

that was 2011...needed a pt vs detroit and got beat in regulation and then the stars went on to lose to the wild...

bettman speaks about the coaching abuse issue...i think well stated with new policies going forward...

now if they can turn his attention to the players respecting each other on the ice and get rid of all the cheap dirty during play and after whistles...wow what an idea and step forward that punches, lethal stick work etc are finally not tolerated...

You're talking puking on your sandals drunk. Bartender couldn't possibly dish them out that quick. One helluva bar tab.

I’m still surprised at how well Handzus held his own at 2C during the 2013 Cup run.
- SimpleJack

Handzus>AA. Both big bodies and solid FO% but Zus was a physical force. Neither moved well but Zus had the killer instinct that AA didn’t. No fear when the going got tough. AA looked like a lil female dog if things weren’t going his way in big games.

Um, Anthony Duclair has as many goals as Kane.

Can we stop talking about how wonderful 12-17-88 are together, now?

Al Cimaglia
@AlCimaglia

DuClair has turned into a much better player than I imagined after watching him here. Kahun is also having a nice year, as many goals as Saad and more points in one fewer game and he is a +11.

- pdx2ord

DuClair was here when Q was coach, so that explains that.

Kahun trade I personally didn’t like but if he were here he’s numbers may not be as good as they are in Pit.

List of former Hawks playing extremely well right now:

Panarin
Teravainen
Danault
Kahun
DuClair
Hinostroza
Schmaltz
Kempny
Leddy
Jokiharju
Oesterle

If better decisions were made with these players we’d still be contending right now. Imagine a roster with all of that plus 19,88,2,12,etc...imagine all that speed and skill...ya never know what might have been...

So this is where we are now? Pining over former Blackhawks?

Panarin was always great, at best the Hawks would have kept him for 2 seasons then he’s gone. If that trade wasn’t made Chicago wouldn’t have Saad or Panarin this year (and they still would have missed the playoffs the previous 2 years).

Teravainen and Danault... ya, those were guys who could have stayed an been long term contributors. Not good moves by Stan.

Duclair? He was terrible in Chicago and Columbus afterwards, not to mention Arizona before that. I wouldn’t bet money on him playing consistently like this all season long.

Hinostroza... I like the guy, but 10 points in 32 games doesn’t classify as playing extremely well.

Oesterle - ok, but nothing special

Kempny has been good in Washington, but he never fit in Chicago

Schmaltz has done well but so has Strome. That deal was good for both clubs and players, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Jokiharju... not a fan of that trade but it’s still early, I’m not willing to pass judgement just yet.

Kahun - of all Stan’s moves this summer this is the only one I don’t like. Kahun is making the most of his opportunities now, good for him.

Leddy - the Hawks have their own version of him in Gustafsson.

Who’s next? Anisimov? Rutta? Hayden? Hartman? Panik? Perlini? Jurco? Motte?

No, it's not Marc Crawford. Let's see what they look like after this road trip, where I predict 3 losses. The Hawks are extremely inconsistent and are not good enough defensively to make a difference in the West this year.
- ChicagoHope

It is difficult to be optimistic about a winning streak when Strome and DeBrincat still are not up to par - if par for the success on the ice is last season"s breakthrough.

The team has also shown repeatedly that they have difficulty beating opponents whom own a deciding speed advantage.
Another disadvantage witness last night: yuu cannot overlook the fact that Lehner cannot win in shootouts.

Additionally the defense is minus Keith and it is bound to hurt although the group has been better without him than I thought would be the case.

Kahun and Duclair are having fine seasons but I would take Saad over them every day, even considering their cap hits.
