But he earned his contract, it’s not his fault the Rangers signed him long term - way out west
True. But he still gets paid if bought out.
Ideally every franchise hero would get to go out on his own terms. But NHL hockey is a business first, and I can’t fault an organization for doing what’s best for its future.
I think that notion is absurd. He signed a contract that he is honoring. The team is expected to do the same. Yes, buyouts happen but this situation is not quite the norm.
This isn't some brought in FA or other poor trade, this is a home grown and drafted talent that has only ever play for the Rangers and is the only reason they were competitive at times. It's kind of refreshing to see a player potentially start and finish their career here.
If he gets bought out I will concede that it's "Business" but I really don't expect that to happen. - JRR1285
Fair.
Or you could trade Georgie to the Oilers. That’d work too.

Rangers twitter just miserable about the analytics, particularly last night - jimbro83
I swear, its impossible to enjoy a game if you are concerned about a spread sheet. Why even watch? Life must be miserable if you couldn't enjoy last nights win.

The beginning of the game had Vegas blowout written all over it but Georgiev played a vintage Hank game and stole one. It (frank)ing happens, people need to enjoy it and flip out about the Montreal game.

I have started to unfollow a lot of people on twitter because of all their "Yeah, But..." followed by some chart.
I't like they refuse to acknowledge that a goalie is actually part of the team.

Exactly.
If they won the cup and got out shot 50-20 every game of the series, these nerds would be miserable. Its amazing how many people just can't enjoy things anymore.
