I think the notion that you need to have a star goalie to compete is starting to be dispelled a little bit. That, plus the fact that young goalies are incredibly inconsistent is what I think kills their trade value. - eichiefs9
Its why I'm worried if we only have Shesty to rely in a year after he his here with the big club, there could be major issues "if" he doesn't play well. I would feel much more comfortable with a Shesty/Georgie combo, I just don't know how that happens without making Cappy our head coach

Your organization has paid him just shy of 100 million dollars over his career. If he wants to get pissy and refuses to help the organization do what’s best for its future, then (frank) him.
I really hope something is going on behind the scenes, because I really want a Georgie/Shesty tandem for the next few years - mdw7413
If they have something in the works , then for Georgie/shesty to be the tandem they must play the poop out of Georgie to make sure he’s a true stater. Don’t want to do what ever with Hank them turns out it was just a hot run for Georgie

Yeah they're certainly in a position where they could potentially shoot themselves in the foot, but unless Hank decides to retire or waive his NMC then they're going to have to either risk trading one or trying to stash Shesty in the AHL another year and risk him leaving to go back to Russia.

But he earned his contract, it’s not his fault the Rangers signed him long term

I think that notion is absurd. He signed a contract that he is honoring. The team is expected to do the same. Yes, buyouts happen but this situation is not quite the norm.
This isn't some brought in FA or other poor trade, this is a home grown and drafted talent that has only ever play for the Rangers and is the only reason they were competitive at times. It's kind of refreshing to see a player potentially start and finish their career here.
If he gets bought out I will concede that it's "Business" but I really don't expect that to happen.

I don't think Georgie would have to carry the load though. It could be a 50/50. Georgie has shown he is more than capable at that. I just hope behind the scenes there might be something mutually beneficial for the organization and Hank. Its wishful thinking but thats my hope
