That lip is so bad I think you have to stop it. What happeneds if he gets another shot on it in the finals 5 seconds?
- RogerRoeper

How freaking high does the split go if he takes another shot.

One of the articles I read said that the refs don't, and shouldn't, take the clock into consideration.

I don't know how Mirgliotta (sp?) didn't puke.

What do people think Laine's cap hit will be in 2 years? I laugh at all this criticism. So short-sightened.
- RogerRoeper

it's both sad and hilarious seeing how bad you've drank the koolaid.

I have no idea why you can't admit that Dubas got bent over in negotiations with all his young guys.

he got (frank)ed on dollar amount and he got (frank)ed on term.

Laine would have to almost double his salary to get to where the leaf guys already are......and speaking of short sighted, what do you think the young leaf players contracts will look like when Matthews, nylander, Tavares and marner all expire within a year of eachother.

So? Dubas can make offers all he wants. Good for him. He is doing his job.
- Aaron_85

That sites a sham I think, I’d like to see it reported somewhere else...any other links?

To compare to Marner for instance

To equal his deal, Laine would have to sign for 13mil x 4 years

Hard to say what things will look like for the 2021-22 season, but I dont see him getting 13

The reality is that doesn't mean they are as bad defensively as it seems. The #'s with Freddy starting are real good. They are horrific when he's not in net.

Leafs are at a 107 PT pace with our #1 goalie in net.

- RogerRoeper

No.
but the eye test pretty much says they arent great defensively

I love it.
The Fumble, the TD, seeing that look on Belichik's face.

Great football day all around yesterday though.

SF - NO game was a thriller, Bills gave the Ravens a run for their money, watching the pats lose at home in the best way possible.

Entertaining all around.

So Nylander is "Millions" overpaid, right? Would say say that if he had a 6.9 million cap on any other team?

And Laine WILL double his salary easily because he won't be signing for 2 years! Do you not understand how term affects cap hit?

The new U.S TV deal is coming so is Seattle. That cap will be almost 100 million within 3 years.

And we all laugh at you.
It works out.

But seriously, do you really think Laine is gonna sign over 12m per?

Dubas overpaid Marner and Matthews....and little for willie...but 500K is not the end of the world.

So William Nylander right now is overpaid? Please look around the NHL.

And yes, Laine will sign for over 12 imo.

There is not a single GM other than Dubas who would be getting crap for signing a 22 year-old like Nylander for 6.9 per in his prime years.

I would have bridged most, even if you have to pay a bit later. We pretty much bridged Matthews but gave him “best player in the league” salary.

But it is what it is, I just care about the product on the ice...looks pretty good, wish we played a little more aggressive style...banged and fought a little ( as it’s entertaining also )

slightly overpaying Nylander isn't the issue......massively overpaying Matthews, Marner, and Tavares is the issue......and not getting the first 2 locked up to max term deals

comparing the coaches 5v5
small improvements in the high danger chances and actual goals.

Babs
HDFC 187-200 (23rd)
sh% 7.86
cf% 53.45
GF 47-52

Keefe
HDFC 80-77 (17th)
sh% 7.14
cf% 52.65
GF 17-16

Some luck can still swing their Leafs way also, they have been low on the sh%/sv% scale

Again.
At the time of the signing.
As of now, as long as he gets 60pts, he's fine. No concern of mine.

So Tavares got offered 13 million per but 11 million is a "Massiev Overpay", what? Panarin signed for more as a UFA and he's a winger.

you're right, but they'd ALL be getting poop on for handing out the deals he gave to Marner and Matthews..........he made them both 2 of the 5 highest paid players in the league, and didn't even maximize the term.

you know that you can admit it right.......almost every other leaf fan has......when it comes to handing out contracts, dubas isn't good

Well at the time of the signing Draisaitl was horribly overpaid. That's the entire point. Have it look good as the stats, salaries and cap goes up.

Tavares?

huh?

Have you been living under a rock?

Doughty, Panarin, Karlsonn. Big free agents the past two years all 11 million.

It is the norm, SJ offered more and he chose the Leafs. Great.
