the cap went up 2 mil the year vegas entered the league....the following year it went up by 4.........but somehow Seattle coming in (which we all know won't have the same financial success right away) is going to jack the cap up by 15 million.
sure thing buddy - haywoodjablome
You blast him for speculating about JT being offered 13 million from SJ, which every insider with a rep said was true.
But then you go ahead and act like your speculation of a new team coming into the league wont have success is a fact.
You are a hypocritcal troll, do us all a favor and leave because everyone on here seems to hate talking to you. Go find someone else to ignore, maybe your friends and family. |

The Wings just put Madison Bowey on waivers?
Maybe we can put a claim in for him?

Or even just a backup for a couple mill ( if needed )
Anyways, we’ll be fine...not sure we’ll do
Much damage in the PO’s...but that’s looking at it today and not in 2 months from now.

it's (frank)ing vegas.................the success they had, both on and off the ice, was COMPLTELY unprecedented in league history. it's pretty safe to assume that a city like seattle, which I'm sure will be successful, won't enjoy the same historic success that vegas did.
I have a Mustang, and that (frank)er is fast and performs really well.......now even though I've never driven a Ferrari, it's a safe assumption that my car won't perform as well.................pretty much the same thing

Not really, unless we trade someone...we had to demote 3 guys just to fit 1 guy back in.
As I said, we’ll be fine...who needs a stinkin backup anyways |

According to this Forbes article, the cap jumped $2 million the year Vegas entered:
https://www.forbes.com/si...for-players/#68b609a52125 - Atomic Wedgie
Again, the Vegas cap bump occurs the season AFTER and that's mentioned in your article:
The incredible success of the Vegas Golden Knights culminating in a Stanley Cup Finals berth helped grow the revenue of the league and thus had a tremendous impact on the salary cap. The current salary cap is $79.5 million, an 8.9 percent increase from the 2016-17 season.
The cap will never go up a dime due to expansion until a year after they have completed a season and all revenues are tabulated. |

Seattle won't have great playoff revenues like Vegas, but they will still sell-out every sinlel game and it won't be cheap tickets. |

the cap the year before was 75...........so the biggest increase in years was only 4.5 mil yet somehow you think it's going to increase by more than 15 mil in the next couple years.

you literally bolded the part where I said how much the cap went up the next year.........
jesus man, you really are clueless - haywoodjablome
No, you counted the Vegas revenues BEFORE they ever played a game. You looked at the wrong year.

There are backups out there that can fit under the cap. Dubas probably just doesn't want to give up a prospect but he may have to....again I'd rather lose a B prospect over my 1D and 1G in 2 years. |

When we look at things that will significantly impact the cap in the near future. Adding a successful team will help to a certain extent. The new US TV deal though is expected to make a paradigm shift in revenue. The normal $4 - $5 million increase in cap (with the exception of the voluntary slow play of the past two years) should see a healthy increase with that TV deal, combined with the gambling deal and a new team that is expected to be very successful. A $10 to $12 million hop, not this coming year, but the following year would not surprise me.

Did I say it's going up 15 million due to Seattle expansion? I believe I also mentioned the upcoming record U.S TV deal and the MGM deal in Vegas NHL signed last year.
I actually said Seatlle will make it rise 5 million. Selective reading... |

Have to think Dubas is trying but no team will help us out..
It will probably cost a lot right now to get a capable back up goalie.. A lot of teams still feel like they have a chance to make the playoffs. |

Yeah.
Well he could go all out and get a Jarry or Georgiev.
He is in a tough spot but if they have to give up a prospect to get a goalie I do it. |
