IMO, the only overpay was Marner by about $1/$1.5M over what he should have gotten.

So last year it was Marner is leaving by offersheet Leafs are screwed. Now it's he signed 6 years with the Leafs, they are screwed.

I do say Leafs are a cup contender. I believe there are 10+ cup contenders in the NHl right now.

I love how Buffalo hasn't made the playoffs in 9 years but they can make the playoffs, not the Leafs.

23 years since Florida won a playoff round but they can compete for a cup, not the team that hasn't won a round since 2004.

Cap will be 97-100 in 3 years due to Seattle, new TV deal and the deal with MGM in Vegas.

Laine will easily get 12 million because he will not be asking for 2 years again.

It will be about 100 million imo. Seattle alone will see if go by by about 5 million.

So unless you think that Seattle is going to be wildly successful, that's really pushing it.
