As of this moment, I tend to agree. However, if Chicago is looking to do a complete rebuild, and Toews continues his subpar play, Chicago might look to swap a big albatross (Toews @$10.5 million per) for a smaller one (Ladd @$5.5 million per).

There is no way any team takes Ladd unless the Isles retain 99% of his salary. Even then there probably won't be anyone interested.

That’s optimistic but I would think if that’s Lameriello’s plan he would most likely want to get it done ASAP to help the team now. Maybe I’m wrong but I would think playoff position has to play some kind of part in the thought process.

I think the Devils are trying to get an answer or deal done with him and if he’s not signing they will trade him. They aren’t in the PO picture so if he isn’t signing he’ll be traded obviously.
I’m sure Lou has already spoken to FS about Hall along with a handful of other GMs.
I think the Isles are at a point where they can trade picks and or prospects to add to the current roster to make a run at the Cup.
He’s perfect for The Isles in my mind as a PO rental.
