Hall would be a very nice pickup but I'm not giving up a Dobson type prospect for any rental. If the Isles can add a Hoffman type player this would help.

Hoffman would cost less and be similarly effective

Agreed but I don’t see the Panthers trading him not sure why he’s even popping up in rumors?

I agree. Lou gets Hoffman and adds maybe a 3C he did his job. I wonder though who gets dropped from the top 6 if Hoffman is added though?

Not sure what they’re going to get in all honesty other than a first. That’s a definite unless there’s a legit, blue chip prospect...

I’d drop next year’s first round pick for half a year of a sniper who might help us win, no problem. The trouble is that there are likely several teams involved, some of which are directly competing with each other for the same playoff spots. That sh*t is going to get silly....

I suspect that Hall will bring back a blue chip prospect + a draft pick. Maybe a 2nd that becomes a 1st conditionally.......like if Hall re-signs with the team, or if the team makes the Conference finals.

It's going to be tough. I can see the Isles moving the #1 and a Wilde type prospect since it seems he may be blocked on the Isles.

I doubt Hoffman becomes available unless Florida drops out of it altogether, which probably means he’s not going to be....

Hoffman would be the perfect shoot first forward the Isles can use.

Exactly....and that simply isn’t worth it for us. We need a better offensive option on the left side than a Dal Colle or Komarov, and/or an actual center for line three (Brassard is far more productive on the wing). I’d like to see Lou pull one or both of those things off for as little return as humanly possible, especially for any rental.

I like Ross but I'm still trying to wrap my head around him being in the top 6.

What if Hall comes for Dobson a 1st and a prospect and leads the Islanders in PO scoring and they win the cup? Which is the ultimate goal.

If they’re going to give us the cup then sure. But they won’t and there is no guarantee, so so no.

Well, the Islanders are going to have to give something to get a scorer for the PO run. Contenders do it going into the POs often.
I would do it in a heartbeat if a contract extension is part of the deal.

BTW Leddy could have went tonight but they decided to showcase Dobson for a trade

I agree about having to give to get. What do you think Wilde or Wahlstrom, plus the 1st would get us?
