His contract expires after this season. If they can't re-sign him, better not to lose him for nothing.
- JohnScammo

I get that but why wouldn’t they want to keep one of their best players?
I mean I haven’t heard that he is unwilling to sign there. Have you seen that or heard that anywhere?
If true I would think he would fit nicely as a PO rental.

There’s a reason why no team traded for him with LA willing to eat a bunch of his salary. Let’s get a goal scorer and not (frank) with a has been.
Garth Snow left a long time ago and hopefully the “let’s give this guy a shot he’s cheap” mentality left with him.

I think it's time for the Isles to get a more sure thing player at this point. I understand if Hall cannot happen. Should be another top 6 player that can help the Isles can add.

He has a 10 team no-trade clause. Might the Islanders still make everyone's list?
- JohnScammo

I think those days have passed. They are a winning team two years in a row. They have respected management. There is a brand new building on the way. Player may want to come here now.

Would be very weak if players were still not willing to come.

He's a pending UFA, he'd be a rental.

I’m not saying he is my first choice but I would take a flyer on him over Leo or MDC

Gotta think after the Islanders continued good play this year Players have to start believing in the transformation of the franchise.
That said it was 4 month ago that Panarin inked with the Rags after the Islanders offer more money so.......

Fair.
As bad as MDC and Uncle Leo are viewed by most fans, I would take both before Kovy. Just my opinion.

Honest question does Kovy even fit in a bottom 6 role? It would not be the end of the world to try Kovy and you can always drop him but he does not seem to be the type of player to move the Isles forward at this point.

In Panarin's case it was obvious he wanted to live and play in NYC. I really think guys don't want to split time between two rinks for home games and have all sorts of weird local travel. Belmont and a winning, properly-run organization should stabilize that in the not-too-distant future.

Speaking of Belmont, that looks an awful lot like the beginning of a rink off to the left there

Listen if not having an ounce of offensive skill is your thing then yes I would rather have both of them too!😏

Hoffman would be a top 2 player in would want along with hall. Hoffman can snipe and helps the power play immediately. If he works as a rental then you try and sign him long term

Is it really that bad playing in two building for a little while and especially when it's mostly at the Coli? It's still NY and you have the better team and better front office and coach. I'm so impressed Durant and Irvin picked the Nets over the Knicks. It does look like the beginning of a rink. Hopefully I get to go.

Mdc maybe but at least leo has some grit to his game and gets under the opponent's skin. Mdc plays ok d but he doesnt really do anything

I'd love him, but I also don't hate the idea of just beefing up that third line with a bit more offensive firepower. We already excel at rolling all four lines and if they add, say, Pageau and Toffoli then that is a god damn great looking top-9 with the fourth line doing their thing.

Imagine:

Lee-Barzal-Eberle
Beau-Nelson-Brassard
Bailey-Pageau-Toffoli
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

Might not be sexy but that is a really well balanced line-up, which seems to thrive under Trotz.

Leo might be the worst hockey player in the league. Who cares if he gets under people’s skin. So does Clutterbuck so Leo is useless in my book and Trotz is starting to realize that
