Nelson and Beau have been great. I don’t see why they can’t continue to play the way they are. I think they have found great chemistry and it’s helped both their games.

Absolutely. I was never a big Beau fan but he has been great I hope he can continue it. He made a couple goal saving defensive plays last game that were pretty incredible second efforts. His play on both sides of the puck has been awesome.

Yes Sir, I think the staff and Lou were hoping he would improve this year but he’s really taken it to the next level.

Reminds me of Tonelli if I haven’t mentioned it.

I used to love Steve Thomas. When he fought he pretty much kicked the shat out of whoever he was fighting and also scored.

Stumpy!? I didn't remember him being a tough guy. I remember Vukota doing most of the fighting in that era. Also, Baumgartner and Dalgarno, although the latter wasn't a very good fighter.

Edit: I just looked it up. He did in fact get in his share of fights, although guys fought a lot more in his era. I see a fight he had with Darcy Tucker after he (Thomas) had been traded to the Devils. Looks like he took care of business from the description. Would love to see that video.

Tucker did most of his damage in that 1997 fight before Thomas even got the gloves off. Tucker was such a slimeball. Thomas still won a narrow victory IMO.

Not really fair for Deslauriers to pick on Gudas knowing he's like four links back in the chain of evolution

Good write-up, Ben. A year ago the discussion here was often about bringing in a big-name talent to bolster the team with Beau usually mentioned as trade bait. Now he's playing so well and so consistently, that I agree with you........he's looking like a core player to build the team around. I cannot imagine including him in any trades.

He wasn’t the vukota cement head type but he could score and handle his own poop. Good player they don’t make them like that anymore.
